My steps for doing intensive reading in Korean 💖🇰🇷
1. Get a book at or above my level
2. Read one page and write down key phrases
3. Underline new words
4. Look them up on Naver dictionary and write example sentences if necessary
5. Mark words I need to memorise for daily conversation

Lindie you legend! Thank you so much! That last step, "Highlight the ones I need for daily conversation" is the step that I've been missing for so long, and the reason that my Anki deck is so massive and insurmountable!

😊 I just started doing intensive reading with “Korean Stories for Language Learners.” I am so excited to try your method. Thanks again.

Thanks for the tips. "Highlight the one needed for daily conversation" ☺️
I tried reading Harry Potter in Thai. But there were so many new words I thought I had to know. I gave up 😩
I think I'll start again

do you have any advice on how to read faster?

Is this a good method for learning new words? I used to "read" my Ancient Greek and Latin like this in high school, but I always felt like if I learned a living language like this, I would be focusing more on translating than learning to read in the language.

I should start doing this for my other languages, do you find these words reading random articles online?

Actually, I've tried reading Korean books but I think those books are above my level. And I am currently an intermediate learner. So can you recommend me some Korean novels with short poems?

How long did it take you to learn the Korean alphabet? Also, how different is north korean vs. South korean?
