INFJ - ENFP Relationships - Personal perspectives

I thought I'd make a video where I talked about my personal perspectives on the INFJ - ENFP Relationships.

INFJ help ENFPs understand why things are happening and why things happened the way they did, bringing clarity. ENFPs bring up opportunities and new possibilities the INFJ was too tunnelvisioned to notice. INFJs tend to show how to make crazy ideas possible, things the ENFP would dismiss as a crazy, silly whim.

I would like to add that ENFPs gain A LOT from their INFJ partners (or friends) such as learning to be a bit more organized and thoughtful. And how to ACTUALIZE goals!! :D

"ENFPs show us what impossible is to explore, and we go, 'If we would explore it, this is how we would do it.'" <<< _I_ love that quote!
Yes. :-D

I was in a serious relationship with an INFJ for a year and a half, but we had been good friends for two years prior. He was a drummer/composer, and I was his muse. I think he fully fell for me when he heard me sing. I describe interactions with my INFJ as like looking in a mirror and seeing something different reflected back. He really brought out my romantic side and saw this potential in me. It was a one of a kind connection I thought would last forever, but our lives went in different directions. I knew he would make himself unhappy to be with me, and that made my ENFP self uncomfortable. INFJs are intense emotionally and I actually would say that ENFPs should set clear emotional boundaries with their INFJs to avoid hurting them. Maybe other ENFPs have a different experience, but I think that in the long term, the ENFP has to learn to be less independent/free-spirited and the INFJ has to dial down the intensity. For me it was hard trying to go back to being "just friends" when we broke up because the relationship was super intense (he had me believing we were soulmates). I have no regrets but it probably would've worked better just as friends. But he's one of the best people I've ever met, lots of love for INFJs. I've been with an INTJ for 3 years and it works better for me because he isn't as intense emotionally but is brutally honest and tells me things that are hard to hear but ultimately improve me and push me to do and be better.

My husband is an ENFP and truly an inspiration. I can't count how often I've told him he lightens and brightens my world. I have had to learn the hard way to set boundaries, too. it keeps me from feeling taken advantage of and hurt and keeps me energized about our relationship. I know he values my insights (and sometimes is annoyed 😁) and loves to tell me all his ideas and dreams.

I like listening to you talk :) you are a very positive person. I don't always agree with the mbti framework, but the way you communicate with this framework is very effective in explaining human phenomenon, and enjoyable to listen to. You have a very good understanding of people and the mbti framework, as well as a charismatic and bright vibe. I wanted to show my appreciation :)

INFJ needs ENFP to get us out of our shells, experience life in its full extent. We compensate for each other's inadequacies, makes us whole to collaborate. We are not assertive about what we want we tend to look out for others getting permission to do things

I know this has been around for awhile and ive seen you in and out of MBTI groups but now that I am connected with an ENFP, this is spot on for me as an INFJ :-)

Well laid out: logical, yet deeply heart felt descrription of the dynamics. I as an ENFP love your style!

Awe yes. Monk life. I'm familiar. My best friend of 9 years is ENFP. I've only recently realized this, but it makes sense. I moved away a couple of years ago, and only recently have I really started to miss him, as I've been stuck in my comfort zone. He always pushed me, not in an aggressive way, but just enough to annoy me into action.

YES!!! My ENFP friend pulls me so much out of my comfort zone, but in a way that shows that she really gets me. She's not pushy, but lets me know what she needs and brings an amazing zest into my thinking and life!

Thank you, Erik! I enjoyed another INFJ discussing the INFJ way of processing. I am in a relationship with an ENFP. I am a much better person now, coming out of my comfort zone! :)

I would be curious whether you are still with this ENFP and if not, did you change your mind about the compatibility? So many people do that after a bad experience with any type...

Are you still good and together? How has it been?
