Not having a gallbladder is, unfortunately, is a very common thing. With more and more people discovering the awesome power of the ketogenic way of eating, it's only a matter of time until someone without a gallbladder will ask, "Can I Eat Keto Without a Gallbladder?

The gallbladder stores and concentrates bile, which is used to digest fat. Since the keto diet is a high-fat diet, that question is valid, and deserves an answer.

In this video I explain the answer, and how you should approach keto without a gallbladder. It matters, but not as much as you might think.

My gallbladder was removed in 2005 - I started eating LCHF/Keto in 2010. I have never looked back. I had more of the problems you talked about when I was still a sugar eater. Losing 120lbs was the answer. No issues consuming the fat.

I had my gallbladder removed when I was a young woman and LONG before I learned to question people in the medical profession and do my own research. I have been on Keto since 10.01.19 and am successfully eating only one meal a day. I do have a bullet coffee with butter in the morning, and then eat dinner with my family at night. So far, I haven't had a hard time of it. Thanks for the words of encouragement in your videos. =)

It’s been hard.... lots of failures on this journey. I will take 10 steps forward and then 5 steps back. Every time I get an attack, it lasts days and whenever I try to eat keto foods I will throw everything up. I will literally be forced by my body to eat carbs because anything else I will have to throw up. Its been a hard journey, but God’s Grace has been keeping me going. I won’t give up. I know God will sustain me through, even when my physical body is weak, my spirit is strong.

I have no gallbladder and what I've found is that I can't eat 100% carnivore because it gives me diarrhea, but I can eat 95% carnivore (super low carb keto). I just have to add a very small serving of vegetable to my meals. I guess it's the tiny bit of fiber in the veg, but whatever it is, it works.

Had Roux-en-Y and my gall bladder removed in 1999. Very happy on keto for almost a year now, and low carb for years before that. No issues.

Like many here, I had my gallbladder removed, nearly 30yrs ago. Until I started Keto, I had many episodes of gi issues. Since starting Keto 8 weeks ago, I’ve had 1, after eating my first solid meal following a 60 hr fast. Considering I used to have this issue nearly every time I went longer then 12 hrs with out food, I’d say Keto is a major win!!

I had my gallbladder removed 20 years ago and I have been keto for years with no perceptible problems and my wife and I also practice Omad. I guess the longer you go keto the more your liver adapts

So glad I found this video. I did a google search and every link gave this long list of do's and don'ts for being on keto without a gallbladder. It sounded much more complicated than I was looking for. I only started keto a few days ago and pretty much went full steam ahead. I had mine removed 13yrs ago and since then always had urgent diarrhea when I eat along with extreme pain. Sometimes I couldn't even make it through a meal without running to the bathroom. Anyway, i have not had a single bout of diarrhea since Monday, when I started keto. I didn't even think to look up keto without a gallbladder until I saw a different video mentioning gallbladder/liver health and then I was like OH NO. So, thank you!

Been there, I took 1 or 2 ox bile salt tablets after I ate for the first month or so to boost up my bile and then slowly reduced it.
Simple, cheap and it works, not like my stupid gallbladder, that thing nearly killed me!
I eat one meal a day in 2 small parts to get my caloric needs so fasting 22.5 hours a day most days.
I love it and 70% fat is no problem just don't take too much MCT oil at one time or nothing will keep the diarrhea away!

20 yrs ago I had my gallbladder removed after it ruptured. I had been on “protein power” diet for 3 yrs. for PCOS and Metabolic syndrome. They made me leave this way of life. 10 yrs later I had ballooned to 396 lbs. I had the gastric sleeve and only dropped to 210 lbs but herniated a disc in my back and had 2 kids. So back up to 264 lbs. My TSH was elevated and ferritin only 6. So I am going to change to this way of life and my Dr will run new tests after 3 months. We are switching the family to this keto way of life. But, I am struggling a bit with the fat and the food volume for IF. But we are determined to heal our bodies and get off all processed foods.
