I love your channel Dr Maggs. You were the first person I found over 2 years ago while suffering on my couch, overweight and unable to move from a Sciatica attack. I'm now down 75 pounds to my optimal weight, optimal health, no pains, and now actively and successfully coaching everyone around me. All thanks to your videos that got me started and excited, gave me hope. THANK YOU DR MAGGS !!! You are a Godsend and I appreciate you more than you can imagine.

Excellent explanation! 4yrs keto, now low carb. Down 135lbs and CBC Labs are excellent. Have blood work check every 6 months and amazed by the improvement. A1c started at 6.0mm to 4.7mm
Triglycerides 200 now 50. Hdl 35 now 79. This way of eating is more about your health and weight loss is a side effect. Thanks for all you do.

Doing a 2 month clean Keto last year changed everything for me since it made me change the taste buds and not crave sugar anymore and get into fasting. It made me love the darkest kind of chocolates and good olive oil etc and even though I cheat from the diet a lot these days the sugar craving hasn't returned and my health has improved so much it's ridiculous. So anyone wanting to say cut down on sugar the best is to remove all carbs cause if you just start just cutting down you'll still have the cravings which on full keto are gone in a week or two and then it's super simple to stay like that instead of this constant struggle with discipline I see many go through

I won’t run anything by my doctor. I have not found one doctor who knows what they’re talking about and doesn’t condescend the patient.

One of the clearest, most lucid explanations on Keto I've seen or read. BTW, your lighting is on point. Good production value!

What’s been great on LCHF is not only losing 35 lbs in the past five months…I’m also able to exercise six times/wk without injury and have more energy. I do anywhere from 75-150 carbs/day, and no added sugars or processed foods. Life-changing!

Love this, thank you Dr Maggs, especially for explaining that ketosis in fact occurs from restricting carbs and not from increasing fats per se.

Great video for newbies! Informative and hit all the right points (ketosis is not 🚫 ketoacidosis!). 🙂👍

Elegantly explained in a concise way. I must point out that probably most doctors would scoff if a patent gave them "a plan from a dude on the Internet", even if it's correct guidelines

Very well explained - I just don't know why more people don't follow it - I feel great - losing a Kilo week give or take

Amazing video. The most articulate and clear explanation on all of YouTube imo. Thankyou for that. I do have a question, what are the cardiovascular risks of eating lots of fats etc I'm worried to start a keto diet with high levels of fats (even "healthy" fats) ... does it clog arteries... bad for the heart etc.. thankyou again, your videos really are helping a lot of people

Accurate information about ketosis is a step forward for us insulin intolerant, so thank you. You are so right about Dr's regarding treatment of type 2 diabetes. I think a problem with modern obesity is the blanket treatment for it and type 2 D, by some / majority of Dr's. Informative video, thank you.

Doc. I like your definition. A keto diet is a diet that puts you in ketosis regardless of the food. One thing to note is that protein produces an insulin response. Even on a zero carb diet, consuming very lean protein can take someone out of ketosis (I’m proof of that).
