This is the 4-5-6 (or 4-7-8 if you want to lengthen the exercise) Breathing Exercise. This can be beneficial if you're experiencing anxiety, stress, trauma symptoms or are overwhelmed. It allows us to slow down physically, mentally and emotionally, tuning our body into the Parasympathetic Nervous system (Our natural calming system). Enjoy!

Is it better to breathe in through nose and out through mouth or doesn't it matter?

This video has a great technique but I found that I couldn’t inhale or exhale properly due to my anxiety making it hard to breathe. My breathe was shaky and my chest felt like it could not gather enough air.

You did not say if we had to Exhale through our mouth. Do we exhale through the mouth?
