This 1 hour + Yin Yoga practice is all about surrender - release - letting go. Yin Yoga is the perfect way to practice releasing the things AND thoughts that no longer serve you, hold you back, or keep you from growing and moving on. Of course, letting go and surrendering is also physical so we will focus on the ENTIRE back body - lengthening, stretching, releasing the hamstrings, hips, glutes, and back and finish with some deep surrendering breaths. Settle in - release - surrender.

Thank you for this wonderful practice Aprille! I love how you cue the breathing throughout the practice. This helps me let go even more and slows down my thinking. Love the poem at the end of the practice! It's nice to take yoga classes from someone who lives this lifestyle and doesn't just teach.

There is a magic sense of quietness and peace when surrendering. How can I keep that off the mat? One question Aprille: is there a difference between Forward Bend and Caterpillar Pose?

I did enjoy this practice today, so thank you. I do feel as if I was able to release, surrender and let go just a little bit more.I have learned this year that we can’t control everything around us and it is not our job to do so either. Things don’t often work out as we plan anyway. However, another part of that lesson is that we can’t change other people, we can only change ourselves and sometimes we have to evolve. I’m in a process of evolution where I am learning to take better care of myself. And not let the chaos around me caused by disorganized and sometimes selfish people affect me and my health so much. That is sometimes the most difficult thing. I feel so calm and relaxed now. My little kitten Lucy has crawled up onto my tummy and curled up. Time to enjoy the miracle that she is.
