A 45 minute yin yoga class to increase flexibility and melt away stress.

Hey yogis, in this 45 min yin yoga class I'll take you through some pretty deep stretches! Blocks aren't necessary for this class but I do recommend having two or grabbing some cushions from around the house. This is a full body yin yoga class to improve your flexibility. We'll get into some more challenging yin yoga asanas making this an intermediate level class. Enjoy!

What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is often called the Yoga of the joints because unlike other styles of yoga, the emphasis is not on the muscles but on the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form your joints. Yin yoga improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them. The results and benefits are more flexibility and greater range of motion and also more stability within your joints.

There are 3 principles of Yin Yoga.
1. Find your edge
2. Be still
3. Hold the pose

Find your edge means respecting your body's limits and not pushing too far and risking injury. Pull back a little bit and as you hold the pose you will be able to go deeper into it without pushing too far or hurting yourself.

Being still means that once you are in the pose it is important to completely relax your muscles so the benefits can get into the connective tissues and joints. Try not to fidget or move or distract yourself, this is a meditative practice. Breathe deeply in and out through the nose.

Holding the pose means that in Yin Yoga a pose can be held for 1-10 minutes depending on the pose performed and on the comfort level of the student.

The first pose saved me yesterday. I was in a cave making my way down when I slipped. I ended in first pose with left leg extended and right left bent. Due to my flexibility with this pose I was unhurt. So blessed ❤❤❤

I’m in my 10th year of yoga and came across this session. Thanks Kassandra!!! This is one of the most restorative sessions that I’ve experienced. As an aside, I like that you let silence fill the time allowing me to settle into the poses without distraction.

Kassandra, I was hospitalized for septus kidneys and bladder. My Right kidney is still painful and I'm recovering. I asked for prayers in our group and many people have responded. I can't believe I actually got on my Yoga mat and completed with modifications. Thank you, Kassandra and to our group. I did it. Now to lay b k down. Drinking my water after this practice. GOD is amazing. I have.y 500hr multi style Yoga certification but you, Kassandra have been my mentor and will always be. HAVE a wonderful day and great week ahead. I've lost track of what day it is. Love her classes! Best one I ve tried. Unlike many who tend to push or do difficult poses for its own sake, she is very measured and all about doing what feels right for you. She's also very easy to follow so u can just listen plus she's very precise on how to do pose correctly. I ve tried various of her YIN n deep stretch classes and invariably feel energised after. 5 stars!!!

Thank you Kassandra. My mind was prepared for a 10 min Yoga with you but I have made it to 45 min. I struggled a lot with the Swan/Needle position from the right side; I did it so easily from the left side that I doubt it that I was doing it right.

This was my first time practicing Yin Yoga. I loved every bit of it and look forward to doing it again. My hip flexors were sore and they definitely feel so much relaxed after this. :)
