Measuring fasting glucose alone isn't enough to diagnose pre-diabetes, particularly for those who are on a strict ketogenic diet. Fasting glucose is often over 100 mg/dL for those on this diet ("Dawn Phenomenon" or "Dawn Effect"). My most recent fasting glucose in my yearly bloodwork was 108 mg/dL, but my HbA1c was only 4.5 (which is an around the clock average glucose of 82 mg/dL). Perhaps she discusses exceptions to this in other videos, but it is important to note this somewhere. HbA1c, fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, C-peptide, are a few additional things that should be tested.

I love your voice! It’s so soothing. You should record a guided meditation session

So I’ve been eating my food in the correct order that she states and for six weeks now for the first time in 12 years, my blood sugars are very good

They really should be teaching this in schools to children. This is important for your life health. As we get older we should not be "fire fighting" our health. It has taken me 2 years to correct insulin resistance at age 70. At least it is possible but best to avoid the need.

Using fasting glucose as the main metric for diabetes classification is flawed and could possibly delay early detection of diabetes or for that matter pre diabetes also by as much as five years. A much better way to do that is measuring fasting insulin. Even go a step farther if you have high triglycerides but get a good fasting glucose and A1C number. Measure your post prandial insulin also.
Diabetes is a disease of insulin resistance and early stages is high insulin. So by measuring fasting or post prandial insulin you will know how much insulin your body is making to lower blood glucose.

In early stages high insulin has enough time to lower your fasting blood glucose to give you false indication.

Most such talks are about pre-diabetic conditions. A very large global population are already diabetic and are under medication. Blood sugar varies according to the diet consumed, the amount and type consumed and the time it is consumed before tests. Fasting and PPBS measurements vary greatly day to day depending upon the aforementioned conditions. Same applies to tests conducted for pre-diabetic conditions also.

The fasting glucose is measured and considered healthy eventhough you can already be insulin resistant and developing towards diabetes 2. If your fasting insulin is high and glucose is "considered healthy" at the same time and you have history of diab2 or prediabetes in family, it is a huge red flag. It means that your metabolism has already dificulties to deal with glucose. But do not worry, doctors dont measure the fasting insulin level. So you are not informed at the beginning of the problem and can not start preventing diabetes and obesity until you are really sick, old and overweigt. Thank you.
