The world lost Kobe and his daughter went way too soon but there were 7 others on that helicopter, adults and children. We can’t forget about them either ❤️

I have a pilot in family. Here is some wisdom. When the birds don’t fly, you don’t fly.

Because I lost my son in an accident a few months ago, I came here. I don't know why. You can't understand grief. I don't know what transpired hours or even minutes leading to his death. All I know is what I was told when they found him. Throughout his life I gave him advice and pointers regarding certain issues and he would tell his friends that I be dropping those nuggets, so I feel so guilty that I didn't say or do something that could have prevented his death. The fact that he died alone makes me cry on even a much deeper level. Being healthy and vibrant one moment then gone the next is too devastating to put into words. He was just a few years younger than Kobe.

May you, son, Kobe, and all those who departed tragically before their time, rest in heaven in peace in the bosom of Abraham. You will be sorely missed!!

I’m a retired Marine. When the weather was like this, we never went in the air on Helicopters on training missions, until the sky was clear !

I just can’t imagine how he felt being that he wasn’t able to save his daughter’s life. As a parent, you don’t fear dying but you’d never want to be in a situation you can’t save your child from dying.

I was going to propose to my girl in a helicopter ride years ago and the guy told me that the wind conditions were to strong for him to take us up. I immediately said you don’t have to tell me twice I’ll find another way to propose to her. So I guess they didn’t want to disappoint Kobe and guest and sadly they all died. Sometimes when u force things to happen, it can turn out for the worst. Condolences to the families. 💯

The pilot should have been brave enough to admit his limits thinking about the safety of his passengers first. I'm sure Kobe would have appreciated it

As an IFR rated pilot myself I have to say that this pilot made some very bad decisions starting with not getting the checklist score reviewed. Another factor was the "I need to get there" syndrome, Byrant was a high profile client and instead of saying we need to wait an hour for the weather to clear he said "sure let's go".

3 family members died. I cannot imagine the heartbreak of their surviving family members. The same for Kobe's family. Imagine losing your husband and daughter in one horrific accident. So sad

The fact that the pilot might have declined the flight due to the weather had it been a normal civilian is just devastating.. people will please celebrities no matter the costs so sad man RIP to all who perished 🙏🙏😔

The reality of the situation is that upscale VIP customers are often highly unsympathetic to delays. Kobe was expected to arrive a few minutes after the crash occurred and I'm sure the pilot felt the pressure to deliver his passengers on time. It is why he cut corners in the first place. The pilot gambled and lost. If someone had said "fly around this mess and it's okay if we're 30 minutes late", the pilot would have likely taken fewer risks. RIP Kobe.
