Exploring the legendary Titanic and its haunting remains is an adventure that fascinates many. The Titanic, which sank in the early morning hours of April 15, 1912, lies on the seabed of the North Atlantic Ocean about 600 kilometers southeast of Newfoundland, Canada. The Titan submarine allows brave explorers to descend to the depths of the ocean to experience this iconic shipwreck up close.

Under the leadership of 61-year-old Richard Stockton Rush, a charismatic pilot and the founder and CEO of Ocean Gate Expeditions, this daring company now offers the opportunity to bring history to life through Titanic expeditions. On this expedition, you will explore the mysterious depths of the ocean and take an adventurous journey to the heart of the Titanic ...

But unfortunately, this expedition did not go as planned....

I still can't believe a Titanic Dive expert Paul Nargeolet, with over 35 dives, since 1985 , got in this thing

The fact that he compared the risk of diving 12, 000+ feet under the sea in a submersible that wasn’t approved by any major safety corporation to every day tasks is ridiculous. Yes, you take risks every day, but the extremity of those risks varies vastly. For example, I’m way safer going on a quick 20 minute walk in public than I am diving 12, 000 feet under the sea in an over sized jimmy-rigged tuna can.

He didn’t want to explore the ocean depths for the good of humanity…he wanted to exploit it for sheer profit and self glory. He was an irresponsible narcissist who scoffed at safety and had a total disregard for his passengers. They were nothing but a source of funds for his ego driven desire for personal aggrandizement. This tragedy should never have been allowed to happen.

Getting into a bootleg submarine and paying 250k for a narcissist to drag you to your death at the bottom of the ocean is maybe one of the greatest oversights I’ve ever seen. It’s hard to feel bad for anyone but the 19 year old. How tragic for him.

This man killed himself and five other people. This company needs to be plundered into non-existence. It was negligence.

How the crazy owner and the people at his company were able to run this business without the proper certifications is beyond me. Just to show you can do about anything if you have the money and the right connections.

There is a difference between bravery and stupidity. This man ignored everything with an inflated ego. He did not consider the real risk to any of the others on bored.

My heart bleeds for the teenager.

Those grown men lived their lives and had their adventures. I’m more mad that they brought that 19 year old with them who was said to be fearful of his father even going on in the sub. He only accompanied his father out of love and now his youthful life has ended.

Kudos to Jay and Sean Bloom for having been alert enough to see the red flags and declined going on the trip.

That poor boy... Nineteen, his whole life ahead of him. Gone in an instant because he didn't want to disappoint his father, despite voicing fear and concerns to his aunt. He didn't need to die, damn it.

I only feel bad for the 19 years old. Imagine bringing your own child on such a dangerous trip. The owner was a megalomaniac with a weird fixation for the Titanic, him marrying a descendant of two Titanic victims is really bizarre. All 4 with very big egos, to the point of thinking they would be fine going that deep into the ocean in that coke can. They were lucky to be wealthy enough for these government organizations to care and look up for them. At least their loved ones had the confirmation that they died almost immediately.

This is not the last few minutes of the Titan. This is the entire life history of every person who went down with the Titan.

I will never understand how such "intelligent", educated, experienced and so on... people could agree to engage in this madness despite all the security warnings !

The submersible wasn’t certified — this was an arrogant CEO who killed 4 people. In my view he’s a murderer and should be treated with contempt. What an imbecilee comparing the risk of everyday tasks and getting out of bed and driving a car to diving to the bottom of the ocean. Seriously what a contemptible fool he was

They weren't brave they were stupid about the whole thing.

It’s crazy because I’ve been watching things and reading up on this since the sub was “missing” and not one single person has said that this build was a good idea! Everyone has said it was only a matter of time!

So I work in a shipping warehouse that ships bottles of water. It really makes sense that the pressure is so crushing because one case of water is considerably heavy. Water is no joke. 😢 Just as dangerous as air, earth, and fire.

They knew it imploded day 1. Whole tragedy was used as a distraction tactic and the families were unnecessarily put through 4 days of hell

There are just some places we weren't meant to go. 😢
