It's very tragic what happened to Anne Heche, but let's not forget the terrified homeowner, who was devastated by this accident.

When she sat straight up on the gurney I almost had a heart attack!

Fled the scene of two accidents and speeding, just thankful no one else was injured by such recklessness.

She had a bottle of vodka in the drinks holder of the car at the time and a well documented history of regular drunkenness and other drug abuse. I find it impossible to believe she was sober during that incident. So tragic.

I feel bad that she was so mentally unstable, but I still can't get over the fact at how wreckless she was and how many other people she endangered.

She was a threat to herself and others, having a tragic past doesn't give you a reason to wrecklessly hurt others.

She died under very suspicious circumstances.

Mental health problems are horrible. Glad no one else was injured.

So was there no explanation for her driving so erratically, causing three accidents, and nearly killing several people besides herself? It sounds like none of the many drugs found in her system had anything at all to do with her wreckless driving so maybe she was just acting out because of some mental health issues. Fortunately she didn't kill anyone else during her episode.

How could they not know a person was in the car that crashed into a house?

If it wasn't drugs in her system what made her drive that way???

I cannot believe they did not get to look inside that car ! Where did they think the driver was ? Hello ! They were concerned about keeping the house from burning but did not bother to break in the car and get her out. Unbelievable. They put her in a body bag and were surprised when she sat up ! she could not breathe mind first responders, I see first

So incredibly sad… I worked with Anne when she guest starred on Ally McBeal. She was a really kind, but very troubled woman. I spent a lot of time talking to her in my makeup chair. I was very fond of her. She died a block away from my childhood home in West Hills. Sad😢.

It wasn't just an accident. She knowingly got behind the wheel when she was in no mental state to do so, and put many innocent lives at risk. It's a miracle she didn't kill anyone. She had more than enough money to afford to call an Uber or taxi. There was no excuse for her reckless actions.

Ellen is often described as one of the most toxic individuals in Hollywood. I have spoken to several writers who have worked with her and they have all expressed their fear of her unpredictable behavior on set. It seems that her dancing is a method of overcompensating for something else. If you observe her in a different environment, you will notice that she does not dance. Her partner, Portia, appears to be held captive, showing signs of Stockholm Syndrome. While it is true that Anne had her struggles, it seems that Ellen only exacerbated them, using aggressive and rhetorical methods.

I'm glad that you did not gloss over her struggles with mental illness in this recounting of her life and career. People in every walk of life can struggle with mental problems at times in their life and reaching out for help should be encouraged, not stigmatized. Anne Heche was a talented actress. I was shocked and saddened to hear about her final fate.
