The TERRIFYING Last Moments Of Isabelle Dube

Then Canmore resident Niki Davison was out photographing wildflowers when the bear approached her. She heard a crashing of undergrowth and when she looked up she was staring right into the eyes of the grizzly. It was her worst nightmare come true. She gathered her belongings, picked up her basset hound and backed away slowly and calmly. The bear followed her along the trail for 10 minutes but he never attacked her. But it was enough to give her a good fright, so when she got herself out of the situation, she immediately reported the incident to Fish and Wildlife officials.
The bear was then tranquilized, fitted with a radio collar and flown by helicopter to the Carrott Creek area near Banff National Park. But over the course of the next week, it slowly began making its way back towards Canmore. Back towards the golf course and the residents of the town. It covered an area of about 15 kilometers in just a few days, traversing rugged and wild terrain. But, by the time Isabelle and her two friends were out on a jog near the golf course on June 5th, the bear had already made it back there.

I live in Australia and being around bears is as silly as swimming where there are crocodiles.

I did a Banff to Jasper hike. In addition to the terrain, the bears, the moose, and even the goats can kill a man. These women did not take their safety seriously.

Seriously? Knowing that her mother got mauled by a bear, the daughter decided to do the exact thing that she did and take a jog in bear land without spray. The stupidity of people.🙄

Blaming the bear for being a bear. Unreal

The daughter who went jogging alone and unarmed after her mother got mauled to death is unbelievably stupid.

to encroach on a wild animals territory and then act surprised when they attack seems pretty foolish

This the territory of the bear, not the humans.

I totally feel for that poor lady. I actually had the misfortune of being chased by a bear in the wilderness. Even worse, it was a momma bear and her two cubs raiding my camp. I know you're not supposed to run, but when a bear charges you, well I ran. At least not in a straight line. I made sharp turns around trees. I ran through a stream. I ran so fast one of my shoes flew off. Lucky for me, the bear just wanted to scare me away from her cubs. When I reached the other side of the stream she stopped, we looked at each other and she let me live. I have nothing but respect for bears. Oh, and at least it was a black bear, not a grizzly.

People who live amongst lions dont go running through the serengetti plains. What is wrong with people? Running through an apex preadators home? She needs to work smarter, not harder.

We live in the Pacific Northwest and if we go hiking, camping or anything else, we have guns and dogs. You don’t go into bear, cougar, wolverine territory or any other dangerous animals without being armed. We don’t hunt or anything, we just love our mountains but they’re dangerous

The friends were too scared to help her!
They did not get the hero of the day award, poor lady!

I'm sorry, I feel for this woman and her loved ones but it's mind boggling how many people still go out in bear country without bear spray AND a firearm. You need both bear spray and a firearm. It doesn't matter if you've been in the area for 50 years, it only takes one incident to be killed. We've heard these stories for a century, yet people still don't learn, if anything, people are more nonchalant about it today. People read articles or watch videos and they think they know what they're doing. There is no substitute for a firearm in bear country but bear spray should be the first attempt at protection. This poor woman's loved ones will suffer for the rest of their lives.

Sorry for the bear. Humans have left them no space at all. Whatever little space they have left, humans want to go jogging there.

3:06 Grizzly Bears are not know for their (tree) climbing prowess. However Humans are much much worse at climbing a tree trunk as they have no claws.

Bears should be left alone to live in peace in their domain. When in northern Australia I don't swim with the crocodiles!

*The general rule for North American bears is a rhyme, to remember it: If it's brown...lie down, if it's black...fight back, if it's white...goodnight. Also, if you happen to get approached by a bear, do NOT allow it to get atop you, as they stomp their prey with all their weight, with front paws...they can and do crack skulls and ribs to disable you, then begin eating you whilst you are alive.*
