No disrespect to the video, , , , however, i have had gout (bad) for 16 years. I've done a lot of research and have had several doctors advise me on gout pain relief. 1. Please dont cut up your socks, it'll make it worse. Your gout area will now rub directly against the inside of your shoe. 2. Dont ever put ice on the gout foot. It will reduce swelling, however it causes blood vessels to constrict and less blood to your foot for circulation which also touches on why NOT TO EVER ELEVATE YOUR FOOT. Once again, it reduces blood being able to get to your foot in order to flush away the uric acid crystals. 3. Yes if you can stomach indomethacin and colchicine go for it but no matter how much i took, the pain was still very there and i had the shits and truly upset stomach. Especially colchicine, be careful with it, you truly do want to weigh how much pain you have prior to using colchicine it will mess you up, lethargic, diarrhea, stomach upset/grumbling ect, oh and i forgot theres the dehydration that goes with not only the medicine but a side effect of Foot doctors say all over the counter pain relievers dont work either, i havent found them to have any effect at all. They ALL say its what food and drink you like but I've found it to be caused primarily, get this, caused by stress....yes exercise, drink only water, do not have sugar, no alcohol of any kind and you will find your body reacting much better to gout if it even shows up at all. DEFINITELY go see a gout specialist called a rheumatoid arthitist doctor who specializes in inflammation, which is what this is and more than likely they will have you on either Allopurinol or something like Uloric, depending if your an "under excreter" or "over excreter. There is a difference. People say baking soda drinks/cherries and cherry juice(not too much, , , your eating sugar there). I havent had gout in 8 years but now its back, , , , my primary care physician that went to an expensive "conseirach" (sp.) Service is now $250 per month, cant afford that and im out of my Allopurinol meds. And sure enough, my right foot bones feel broken, super bad. Good luck to you all, speedy recovery positive energy and de-stress if you can, i know it's hard, most times you dont even know what exactly is stressing you out. You tube has 1000's of great de-stress videos. Calming music ect....take care! And good luck, stay strong it will pass, Chad.

I’ve been suffering from gout for many years and this go around is by far the worst one I’ve had. I’ve been having back to back episodes for about two months now. I’m looking for home remedies because I’m tired of getting the shots.

The socks most def don’t work for me. It makes it worse because it’s compressing the area. Same reason I can’t wear many of my tennis shoes or dress shoes because it compresses or squeezes tight on my joint areas causing my joints to flare up! I’ve been having this issue when I “sometimes” even wear dress pants because it affects my legs and calves snd then my whole calf’s, ankles and joints hurt!
Taking Allopurinol 3 times a day and indomethacin but sometimes it just gets worst.!I this sucke. Used to be an avid runner snd in the gym all the time and now I can’t because if I run and it my feet don’t pick up the way they should, I end up with swollen feet. Not fair ☹️… let’s not talk about the struggles I’ve had in the past few years with work because of this and I’m only 35z

Try eating 80% of your daily calories as complex carbohydrates such as fresh vegetables, legumes, some fruit, 100% whole grain breads, pastas and rice. Eat mostly beans for protein. 10% of your daily calories can be protein such as chicken breast, turkey, fish, lean red beef and lamb. Avoid pork, processed meats like sausages and hot dogs, avoid all seafood as well like lobster, shrimp and crab for example. Finally, eat 10% of your daily calories as fat like milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, eggs and so on. Drink only water, herbal teas and coffee. Avoid processed foods like snack bars, cookies, cereals etc... Do not fry your food. Only boil it or bake it in the oven. BBQ meat is fine too. Cook only with 100% extra virgin olive oil. Do not use corn oil, vegetable oil, canola or other types of oil that are toxic to your health. Finally, supplement your gout diet a supplement that cleanses the kidneys where uric acid is produced. I use NutriGout. Good luck!

It’s funny how everyone thinks it’s on the big toe. I never get mine there.

Yes ice helps. But you will still be screaming inside.

Gout can be debilitating, but it doesn't have to dictate your life. I've found immense support from Planet Ayurveda's holistic approach, which addresses the underlying factors contributing to the condition.
