Balance, Strength & Core Workout to Improve Stability for Beginners & Seniors

30 minute all standing workout for beginners and seniors. Join me for a great workout that will challenge your balance and brain!
All these exercises were designed to work together for improved stability. You will tone your lower body with leg exercises using big dynamic movements. You will use one dumbbell to strength train your upper body while simultaneously working on your balance. Having good balance takes lots of practice! Please be patient with yourself until it improves.
We will also complete some standing core exercises. Core strength is crucial for good balance! Make sure you start at a slow pace and keep your core engaged by pulling your belly button up and in.
I’m using one 4 pound hand weight. Any dumbbell from 1-8 pounds would work well.
I’m also not wearing any footwear. I encourage you to also be barefoot. It’s important for the muscles in your feet to be able to feel the floor. Heavy, flat bottom shoes can impede your progress. All exercises are zero impact so there is no need to be concerned about joint support.

There is a big difference between SAYING your exercises are for seniors/beginners and actually being such!

I love all the videos I have done with you. Altho sometimes I wonder, are they really for seniors and beginners, as I sweat and struggle to keep up sometimes. That is a compliment, because they are great workouts and as you say, You Do You, and I always get caught up and into better shape.
I have been doing your videos exclusively for just over a year, off and on as life gets in the way. I can’t thank you enough for helping me to get into shape and stay in shape. I am 64, had my left hip replaced a year ago April, and am a professional ski instructor. My skiing improved last year leaps and bounds, 1 from the new hip, yet also with how much better shape I was in with you and your exercises. I even took 2 exams last winter to progress to a higher instructor level. I recommend you to every one I speak to, regardless of their ages or fitness levels.

I love all your workouts ! I have been working on my balance for over a year and yay for me I didn’t need the chair at all. I never really realized how important balance exercises are as we age. Thank you for all the different workouts you provide for all of us !

This was a fast one...I kept up for the most part😂 had those little weights for umpteen years, must have given them away🤔 still the the exercises with a band or without them. Still got a good workout in my arms and back. Thanks Lauren and Mike!🥰🇨🇦Sharon.

Day 38, what can I say, I am still sticking it out here because the workouts are versatile, very well designed and executed and plentiful and I can find something suitable for me every day however I feel.

I am 72 and have been doing your workouts for a few years. It is go wonderful to have workouts around 1/2 hr that enable this eldering body to stay strong, balanced and have fun at the same time. thank you for your videos. I think you just may be a life safer, certainly an extender!
