During the Holiday Season, we know that so many things can stop you from prioritizing your health. So we want to share our 25 Days of Movement to keep you on track & keep you moving.
Our first tip is to Walk 10,000 steps/day.
Walking 10,000 steps per day not only helps with improved mood, brain function, speeds up recovery and improves mobility.
Walking 10,000 steps per day can help burn 3,500-5,000 calories per week which is close to 1-1.5 lbs of weight loss.
Walking 10,000 steps is roughly 4-5 miles. And while it may seem daunting to reach that amount, especially if you have a desk job or live a sedentary lifestyle, start by making small increases each day to get closer to 10,000.
When you get a chance, park a little further away from a store that you have to go to or take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. Or set a timer to remind you to get up and walk around the office or house every 30 minutes. And if you went shopping this weekend to cash in on all those crazy deals, you’re probably even closer to 10,000 than you realize.
As you stay more consistent, you’ll also notice that you may even improve your sleep quality and feel stronger on your feet.
