Cognitivism sounds a lot like the model that Brilliant uses in their micro learning format.
Established the goal of the lesson, tie it back to prior concepts discussed in the learning path, provide the learn with an initial problem with little instructions, then follow it up with a explanation of the answer by providing framework built step by step over new problems in the lesson, the culmination is usually the most unique/difficult problem that requires the learner to apply the framework in novel way and finally the learner is asked to reflect (generally the framework is restated succinctly). Repeat this process throughout the rest of the learning path.
