I was in class last night and the instructor said about 10x "lock your knee, lock your knee, lock your knee". The whole time I'm thinking about all the people locking their knee in class! Yikes!! Thankfully, because of your training, I knew better. I naturally hyper extend my hips and knees and have hurt myself doing so. Thhe key for me has been to build muscle around those joints in order to stabilize and not hyper extend. Thank you for putting this correction out there, you're the best!!

Standing bow!!!! That’s I have this phrase in your voice engrained in my brain from training. “Don’t lock the knee” over and over again. Thanks Jimmy!

Thank you for reminding us how to protect our knees. I really don't want to have to get new ones.

At the beginning of every class I instruct "Never lock your knees or elbows"...and use "Engage the knee while using a straight leg".

This was a great tip. I already have a right knee Issue and the last thing I want to do is lock it. Thank you Jimmy for these videos. 😍

Thank you for that video ❤️ I always extend my knees when I was told to lock the knees, but this makes more sense

Jimmy, great great discussion! Thank you, also love the comment about “ dialogue “. Always get irritated when teachers talk about the “dialogue “!

Such great information. I’d like to see all 3 of those pictures side by side tho. Usually what I say when teaching is ‘engage the knee, thigh tight’. 🤷🏻‍♀️ again, thank you for the information. 🙏🏻💕

Just heard this phrase so many takes in class. Really is a shame so many get injuries because of this in yoga. Teachers should know better but who is teaching them? My knees are hurting all the time. Thanks for clarifying this. Hopefully can reverse m knee problems.

Maybe first work on just tightening quad before anything else. Don’t even put other knee in the air until the that quad is tight.😚
