WEAK GRIP = ENERGY LEAK

👇A question to think about…

How much strength can you express if the body part in contact with whatever you are trying to pull or push is weak?

You can have the strongest lats and biceps you want, but if your grip is weak, that strength banishes.

A WEAK GRIP means 1 thing = Huge ENERGY LEAK.

You cannot transfer strength through a body part that’s unprepared to handle it. That’s the reason why in powerlifting they use straps to Deadlift weights that the grip alone can’t hold.

But it’s NOT JUST ABOUT WEAKNESS, sometimes this can be remedied by simply paying attention to these 2 things:

1️⃣- Grab the bar with your knuckles facing up (more rotation even better, like a false grip)
2️⃣- Chalk is your best friend. Grabbing something that’s slippery is 10x harder.

These 2 tips will help you strengthen your grip and pull ups instantly.

People use the first grip because it trains your forearms and prevents your skin from ripping if that happens often.

the first grip allows you to build grip strength and also your forearms, you can continue doing it

That grab compensates for a weak grip, but it rolls your pads into nasty painful calluses :/.. better to just deal with lower reps till you build your grip strength up.

The finger variation should also be used to increase finger strength.

Grip strength and calluses is needed but, it is true. 😅
I can pull-up higher just with this simple change, chest to bar pull-up is achievable now. Although it's just 2 or 3 clean chest to bar

For anyone saying "false grip", this is a bar, those are not rings. Flase grip on a bar, it's more commonly done by almost only using your wrist as a support. Also, it limits your force production if you really want to work your forearms. At least in my experience, it's easier with that false grip, so i grab firmly the bar and actually feel the forearm and back working better and improving in weight.
