Getting stuck in the downswing can destroy your ability to play consistent golf, most commonly causing blocks to the right and snap hooks to the left. In this video, I show you exactly how performing these 2 body movements in the downsiwng will instantly result in an un-stuck downswing, which will result in better and more consistent golf.

This might be the most important piece of instruction for me. I feel all of the stuck symptoms. I try to fire my hips very aggressively and there is too much tilt and I feel my hands are way behind the body. Thanks much Jonathan!!

hi, friend,
First of all, a big greeting. I had been in a deep slump playing for two months, just one day 86. Playing with Pro friends, they told me any number of things that caused the bad game, with the shots to the right and trying to correct I ended up on the left, a nightmare to play golf, It was handicap. 14 hahaha. On Wednesday after playing 92. I decided to look for why I felt blocked, I thank God that I found your video, just practicing one of the drills, at my house that day and on Thursday, I went out to the field, I already had the commitment, in the first 9 holes, two more, missing two 5-foot shots with the putter hahaha. In the second round, two blocked starts, made a 70 handicap field do a round of 80, leaving everyone with their mouths open, thank you very much and God bless you for this video, greetings Pedro

very good drill. i've tried a lot of different things to fix this issue, and this is the one which clicks for me. noticed a change in my swing after one session. I know it will take time to get where i need to be, but this should be a great tool. thank you

This works, also JC. When you swing a few times as you come down drag your back foot towards your front foot, doing this will help with over hip rotation and helps keep your chest towards target, maybe 20 reps, then full swings

Yet again detailed insight into why and easy to follow drills to help put things right, great instruction.

Ok - the stick through the belt loops is literally an instant game-changer for my inside-out swing. Put it to work on a launch monitor last night and instantly my swing path went from 5-9 degrees in-to-out to 1-3 degrees out-to-in. Challenge is maintaining that path when I remove the alignment stick - my old path comes back quickly. Question for @jchowngolf - is there a "queue" you use to remind yourself of the path issue? Like, "faster arms" or "chest first" etc? Love to get your thoughts.

Side bending, rotation of hip and forward bending all 3 maintain in downswing together. If any one goes off u will top the ball .

I truly believe this stuck feel caused my shanks.

What I have figure out is that your right elbow should drop in front of your hip followed by kicking right knee towards the ball . Both has to be done together quick not lo lag in sequence too much.

Can you do the alignment stick under the trail arm with a driver/lower lofted clubs?

Do you see it often that players usually coming from over the top working on shallowing the club and path tend to then fall into this behavior?
