In this video, I share chest and shoulder stretches for tightness and pain relief, moving from light and easy to strong. Shoulder tightness and pain, as well as chest tightness and pain, can be due to poor posture, sitting and working at a desk, or being on phones and ipads too long. In my clinical setting, I see chest and shoulder pain and tightness most commonly after breast surgery or radiation therapy. Gentle stretching can make a massive difference in the speed of recovery and reduction of pain. Stretching can help bring back motion of the shoulder and the ability to reach for getting dressed, bathing, getting ready for the day, caring for children, and getting back into sports or hobbies. These are some of the most popular, in order from light to strong. I love adding a deep breath in each stretch to get the ribs to mobilize and hit those deeper muscles!

Stretches can be taught by a PT specific to what someone needs and can be scaled or modified for safety.

My left rib hurts just normal hurts.. i don't know it keep coming and gone... To me i don't feel the ribs pain when i breath deep or cough.. just hurt... This start happening after gaining weight.. before i was skinny.. i didn't happen much... I do lift bucket 🪣 of water sometime on my left..
