Hi MD, I have a wired desktop HP with Windows 8.1. It's been fine forever, and all of a sudden today, I cannot connect to the internet. My landline phone (which operates off the router) and wifi work perfectly. But I cannot get and maintain internet connection on my wired desktop. I unplugged the router and then restarted the PC and had internet for a brief time, but now it's gone again and I cannot get the connection back. I checked under "Network Connections" and under ethernet it says "network cable unplugged." But the ethernet cord IS plugged in! And under "Wifi, " it says "not connected, " but Wifi IS working for laptops and smartphones. Any suggestions? Thank you!!

Awesome Video! Thank you so much, i was able to get this old hp pavilion g6 up and running again ! :) option #2 was most helpful for me. it showed me where the net connections were and i was able to trouble shoot the wood system directly vs just tryin to turn it on manually. errors fixed and i’m getting all my updates!
