Calvinism vs Arminianism.. Why Both Miss The Mark

In this video, we dive into one of Christianity’s longest-standing theological debates: Calvinism vs. Arminianism. These two systems of thought have shaped how people view salvation, free will, and God’s sovereignty for centuries. But are these frameworks helping us understand the gospel, or are they distractions from the simplicity of Christ’s finished work?

We’ll explore:
• What Calvinism and Arminianism teach.
• Key scriptures like Galatians 2:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, and Romans 3:28.
• Why both systems fall short of capturing the fullness of God’s grace.
• The danger of relying on man-made theological systems instead of trusting in Scripture.

Ultimately, this video challenges viewers to step outside of these debates and focus on the gospel—the truth that salvation is found in Christ alone, by grace through faith, and not in aligning with human doctrines.

Whether you’re curious about the debate, deep into theology, or seeking clarity on salvation, this discussion is for you.

Good teaching brother. I've lost count of the number of times I've told people I'm in neither of those 2 man made camps

I fully agree brother! Let scripture speak for it's self! These two ism's ( which are man's opinion) create more division among believers.

Totally agree, endless arguments about an eternal God that we don’t have the facilities to fully comprehend on this side of eternity, only distract from our real calling and mission as clearly outlined in scripture - to preach the gospel

Some things really are a strict dichotomy, you cannot claim a special "middle" position that cannot logical exist. For example:

1. You either have genuine free will or you do not have genuine free will—there is no middle position there, there is no "neither free nor not free will."
2. You either can lose your salvation or you cannot lose your salvation. There is no possible middle position where you can both lose and not lose it.

You’re the real deal brother. I’ve been binge-watching your videos; very informative. I agree with a lot of your teachings, amen. I also believe you’re humbly sharing the truth. Keep fighting the good fight. I’m praying that God continues to work through your ministry. I look forward to future videos, God bless.

Calvinism is a false gospel denying the doctrine of Christ! 2 John 1:9-10

Jeremiah 19:5 has God saying, "The people built the high places to sacrifice their children to idols. Something I did NOT command, nor did I speak it, nor did it enter my mind." That destroys Hyper Calvinism that says God causes EVERYTHING.

Both "systems" have biblical truths, and both agree on the essentials of the Gospel. Both have godly men and reformers that were full of the Spirit of Christ, but neither know it all perfectly.
The problem is "hyper-calvinism" and "easy-believism", and pride-filled debate, which is 'works of the flesh', and contrary to the Spirit of Christ. The 'elect' sheep are 'meek' and 'swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath' which 'receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls' (Ja.1:19, 21; 4:6). 'The LORD taketh pleasure in his people; and will beautify the meek with Salvation' (Ps.149:4), and designed the Gospel for the meek (Is.61:1, Prov.3:34-35). Both "systems" of theology are better than movies, music, sports, politics, money-mongering, etc which 'choke the Word' in hearers (Matt.13:22, 18:3, 21:23). Both God's sovereignty and human responsibility are vital, and not every one will have a "thief on the cross" opportunity/space 'to repent' (Rev.2:21, 1Jn.3:23-24). Jesus simply says, 'repent, and believe the gospel'; and understanding the gospel is vital to believing in Christ.

They're both just "theories" of how God saves a sinner, not Scriptural.
"All I know is that I was once blind but now I see"

5:33 And, maybe more importantly, they both have the same, wrong foundation. Both teach that God predestined some people to eternal life and some to eternal death, they just differ in how they believe God does the predestining. But because of their similar, errant root, they’re both completely false.

No they're both not helpful. They both twist the gospel. This is what happens when you don't consult the full (emphasis on full) counsel of God.

I think both Calvin and Arminius would be saddened by their names being used in such a way. While the gospel may be simple enough, trust in the finished work of Jesus and have peace with God, people still have difficult questions that should be addressed. Like 2 Peter 3:9, if God desires every single individual to repent, does He ensure that every single individual will have the opportunity to hear the gospel and respond? If God ever withholds the gospel from someone, how can we say He wants that person to repent? Does God create people knowing they will die in unbelief?

I really think arguing the two views is wrong, because it is more important to win people who don't have salvation to lose in the first place.

Seems to me the crucial question is what does it mean to trust Him and His Word. 1Jn 2:6 says, in effect, if you are truly a Christian (and thus saved), you must live as Jesus did. So, how did Jesus live? Isn't that the crux of salvation.

Excellent my brother. It is such FOOLISHNESS to hear anybody parrotting about Jesus dying just for some people. It makes God a liar in John they might want to come across as if they are deep they are unadulterated tough heads!
