No Arminian/Provisionist believes he saves himself.

Speaking on behalf of provisionists: We believe we choose whether to put faith in Christ or to stay in our sin.

BUT HAVING FAITH DOES NOT MERIT SALVATION!

God CHOOSES to save those with faith, and THIS is not of our own doing. It is a gift. God owes none of us salvation, with or without faith. But he chooses to save the faithful, repentant believers. We didn’t contribute ANYTHING to our salvation. We simply believed and therefore God chose to save us.

Ummm… I didn’t know that I was a Arminianism christian. Then someone pointed me to the scripture and I read and read, prayed and prayed, conclusion: I’m right and God is a liar (that I chose God and saved myself by choosing Jesus), or God is right and I was dead in my sin and raised to life by His Works, and He gave me a new heart and mind to follow and love Him! Love or hate Jesus. You can’t claim to love Jesus and call Him a liar. God has never lied, but I have lied. God is true, and every man is a liar (except Jesus). Love and obey from agape love, to do the Will of the Father, trust and obey to give Him Glory, deny ourselves and carry our crosses, Love Him. If not we just hate Him.

And every professing Christian should search their bibles as the Berians in acts 17, and we are to test the Spirits. If anyone is in Christ, they will submit to His Word in the Bible.

Neither day that John Calvin, nor the day that John Wesley got to Heaven did Jesus sit down and ask them to explain the correct theology. Praise God for the grace for us to be incorrect about certain finer points of theology and still be in relationship with God.

The problem with RC Sproul on this issue is that he believes that anybody who is not a Calvanist is and Arminiast. The problem with that is that most Christians who disagree with Calvinism also equally disagree with Armenian theology. Both men had it wrong. Spurgeon even said in his theology he finds himself in a room with Calvin on one side and Armenia on the other. That standing in the middle of the room is what we call fundamentalism. It is simply a Bible believing Christian.

True faith in Christ is what makes someone a Christian. Arminians and Calvinists can both possess true faith. An honest, diligent study of scripture and self-examination will show the believer who God is and who man is. And that is one thing that somewhat puzzles me about Arminians. They seem to miss out on understanding the grace of God to them a sinner and how utterly and completely they need Him.

Arminian/provisionist doctrine means good works lead to an autonomous act of faith. That is the logical conclusion.

As long as they believe works don’t save them, then they are saved.

Most believers consider themselves Christians. Calvinist consider themselves Calvinist 1st and Christians 2nd.

One of RC's dumbest moments... I'd argue the logical conclusions of Calvinism almost, if not completely, leads to unbelief... No Arminian believes they put their own trust in righteousness, with prevenient grace, God is the sole reason any Arminian has the ability to come to God in the first place.

Switching to Calvinism... EVERY Calvinist ultimately believes that God is ultimately the author of evil and is the reason people go to hell. There's no escaping that, no matter what mental gymnastics the Calvinist performs
