Where did "he" (and who is he) say "this is the divine mystery"? Pretty sure "he" (if McArthur is talking about Paul not Jesus) said that Christ in us is the divine mystery hidden from all ages.

Colossians 1:26-27 -
" and generations but now revealed to his saints. 27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, , the hope of glory."

Paul was talking about predestination here. Period.

Also, the last statement John makes here is bonkers.

Yes, God is absolutely sovereign...he is even so sovereign that he can decide in his absolute sovereignty that man has the freedom to decide.
That's what bothers me when Calvinists speak of God's sovereignty, but at the same time they modestize God's sovereignty by saying that God is sovereign but cannot grant man the right to decide. This diminishes God's sovereignty.
Muslims also say that God is omnipotent...but then they claim he cannot become man...he can do anything if he is omnipotent.
Don't lock God into your ideas of sovereignty...if he is absolutely sovereign then he is sovereign enough to give man a free choice...and EVERY man.
Regarding election, I understand it this way...
He had the ark built by Noah...who was chosen to be saved in it? Everyone who enters the ark or just Noah and his family? What if one of Noah's neighbors had believed and gone into the ark? Then he too would have been chosen for salvation! Chosen is he who accepts salvation...God knows who accepts salvation...called are many...but few go into the circle of salvation that God has established.

All men have freewill to accept or reject the Gospel.

This is what happens when you actually follow Pauline theology to its logical conclusion. This very video took my breath away. Johnny, the reason you must admit that you can't harmonize predestination and free will is because no one can. They are literal opposites. I have since studied my way out of Christianity, which is not hard to do if you are critical of what it actually says and how it alters the Hebrew scriptures left and right. The Tenach and the NT have no buisness being attached to each other. They are profoundly different at their core.

No paradox. Just one, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Sola scriptura is nonsense.

"I don't know" - exactly. Because you got it wrong. Those who God foreknew would be saved are de facto PREDESTINED for God, since he knows who they are. They are not PRE-FORCED. They are foreseen and their destiny is sure because God has seen it. That's what predestined means.
