In a nutshell:

1. Focus on protein
Eating enough protein is super important.

Protein keeps you fuller for longer, as well as aid in stabilizing blood sugar levels, reducing sugar cravings, and preventing energy crashes.

Moreover, amino acids, which are found in protein, help repair microtears in the muscles and build new muscle tissue.

When you're exercising a lot, aim for 1.2g to 1.6 g of protein per kg of body weight.

If sedentary, 0.8g per kg of body weight would suffice.

2. Keep yourself hydrated
It’s advisable to drink at least 2 liters of water per day.

Being hydrated helps prevent thirst-induced hunger.

It also aids in maintaining energy and brain function throughout the day.

3. Eat lots of fiber
Load up on veggies and fiber-rich foods so you can be fuller for longer.

Plus, doing so sustains your energy throughout the day.

4. Be mindful of your portion size
Weight loss occurs when you’re using up fewer calories than you require.

Large portion sizes can contribute to the overconsumption of calories.

And so, for non-starchy veggies, aim for two fistful portions or half of your plate.

Keep your protein serving around the size of your hand.

For your carb portion, it should be one fistful of complex carbs.

Lastly, your healthy fat intake should be about a tablespoon of healthy unsaturated fats, say, a sprinkling of nuts and seeds.

5. Limit sauces
Too much ketchup can also derail your progress.

Sauces can take your meal up a notch, but just be mindful of the amount.

Many sauces have additional sugars and energy, which can lead to overeating.

6. Don’t skip meals
Skipping a meal won’t make you lose weight quickly.

In fact, it can increase total energy intake.

So, instead of skipping meals and causing you to indulge at the next feed, have a protein-rich meal or snack.

This will balance your blood sugar levels and sustain your energy.

7. Consume fats in moderation
Fats are essential to a healthy diet.

But since you want to lose weight and reveal those abs, you shouldn’t over consume them.

The rule of the thumb is to get around 30-35% of your dietary intake from healthy fats.

I am a former bodybuilder but now competing in physique my diet consist of five meals a day
1: Protein smoothie
2: eggs peanuts yogurt
3: chicken
4: ground turkey or tuna or salmon
5: protein smoothie

In my protein smoothies are whey protein, half cup of milk, scoop of all greens and 1 cup of frozen berries

My best abs of my life were at a time when 1/3 - 1/2 of my calories were coming from beer, and the rest of my calories were coming mostly from fast food. Clearly that lifestyle wasn't healthy, but the takeaway is to maintain a calorie deficet and you'll have decent abs as long as your body fat is low enough.

You need to also do cardio in combination with a good diet.

For those of us like me, who don’t have a very fast metabolism and have a harder time staying lean, cardio massively helps with the calorie deficit needed to loose body fat and see abs.

My diet plan is breakfast 1cup oatmeal 1/2 cup egg whites one egg three sausage links
Lunch 2 palm size lean turkey one full sweet potato with vegetables
100% chicken nuggets 1/2 cup of beans 1 cup lentils
With dessert is 2/3 cups ice cream and peanut butter

Gained 4 pound this week on 600 calories ordered an omelette eating out. Not eating out anymore. Also ate chocolate. They're off the diet now. Ridiculous. I was listening to people ask was the food nice. Once I heard those word the tape measure showed an increase on 1.5 inches around my waist and 4 pounds on the scale. I ban that sxxt. I walk 5 and a half hours daily and yes this actually happened. I collapsed twice due to medical problem so that contributed but don't feel I need much food right now. It takes a lot of commitment. I've got 4 showing and they dissappear if I overdo salt or fluid.
