Why I Quit My Corporate Job To Do YouTube | Honest Lessons On Money & Risk

In this video, I’m opening up about some hard-earned truths and the life-changing lessons I’ve learned over the past couple of years. Growing up, I was taught that “what you put in is what you get out,” but reality has shown me a more complex picture—one where superlinear returns, luck, and intent play a huge role in shaping success.

I’ll be sharing three pivotal stories:

The struggle and eventual success of starting Aevy.
How understanding and leveraging superlinear returns have been key to our growth.
The intense pressure and motivation that came with debt—and how it drove us to push our limits.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a creator, or just someone seeking direction, I hope my experiences offer you a fresh perspective and some valuable insights. This is not about the “right” way to run a company or live your life, but rather, a reflection on my journey, the challenges I’ve faced, and the lessons I’ve learned.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Your support has meant the world to me and my team, and I’m excited to share what’s next.

Ahmed here, I was a part of Cohort 2, then interned at Aevy, which forced me to push beyond my limits thanks to the insane work culture there, very fast-paced, fun, and a very 'happening' environment, got to learn so much.

After the internship, I started focusing on family business in UAE, and also managed to do freelance video editing and animation, today, editing is a daily part of my life, and thanks to the chain of events, from cohort to the internship at Aevy, which upskilled me, today I work with Ex-Google employee who's building his personal brand, and a fitness influencer, along with other clients every now and then.

I will forever treasure my 'training arc' at Aevy, which gave me the confidence to be good enough at something to be able to pull it off.
Shoutout to the insane people and friends I met throughout the experience, who have always been there.

Loved the surreal vibe of the video, seeing my friends who edited it feels even better!

I completely relate to what you said about failure. Going through failures, I’ve realized that after a big setback, those with courage and a strong drive often regroup and aim for smaller, achievable goals. These goals might seem modest compared to their past ambitions, but they focus on what truly matters—what their customers really need and care about—without getting caught up in flashy startup jargon.

When we achieve these small successes, we learn valuable life lessons that ultimately guide us toward bigger successes. As I read in *The Happiness Hypothesis*, some form of trauma or failure is often necessary for growth. The key difference between winners and losers is how they respond to these challenges. Winners acknowledge their problems, take responsibility, and do everything they can to fix them, which eventually leads to success.

It’s a powerful story, and we've been through similar struggles ourselves.

Love the Cinematography, I personally relate to many things especially that Glorifying Failure part. It truly hurts when you give something your all but you didn't get it, get taunts from everyone daily, also left my home, still managing up with this new life and coping up with my past.. Not a great phase but maybe I am a hero in a making

You must remember not everyone is as good looking as you to pull in an audience on the channel. Nothing wrong in that. Not discrediting the skill at all. You are a good youtuber. Keep it up!
