Freedom is the true wealth! You've got to make a few sacrifices to get it. Building yourself a financial foundation first makes it less stressful going down the path. I'm in my 50s and quit at 35 to follow my passion but I first grew my savings and portfolio to about 450k. My investments continued to increase and provide me with passive income till this day. While you still work HYSA and investing is a great tool

Hi, I am now 71, and retired. I am so glad you are speaking out at a young age to other people your age about doing what you love. I went into banking because my mother was in banking. She instilled in me that you have to have a job, any job. This is depression era thinking. I was unhappy most of my working life, but I supported myself.. I am a creative person, and what I love is cooking, baking, flower arranging, gardening. I did have an antique business the last 15 years until I retired, and that was so fun and creative. We had a great shop! I also sold flowers at a large growing farm in norcal the last twelve years until I retired, and that was a lot closer to who I was.. I tell all the young people I know to follow their passion!

Don't get super excited or inspired and throw away job. Assess your circumstances and sort your finances rock solid. Remember No one is sitting out there to offer single penny just like that.

You are such a Sweetheart to interview the elderly people. Seems like young people forget about us but we are real people. Thankyou for what you do. You are aswome

Roughly speaking, we are all afraid of losing something good in return for the unknown, but on the other hand,
if we take a chance, the gain may be greater than our previous successes🌟

Ok, I'm 53 and I play an instrument for a living. It was all I wanted to do since I was a kid and I was REALLY good at it. I was poor as hell through my 20's, but, long story short, now I'm getting old, I don't regret anything. I never hurt anyone, I've done precisely what I love and have a very comfortable life. I don't have a huge amount of money, but, I have more than enough to be happy. Now I teach young people which feels right, and I love that too. Take a chance, and be yourself, whatever that is, and you'll be happier.

I hate my corporate job. I am actively working on getting out. It feels like I am waiting in the fire till I can escape.

Financial planning is like navigation. If you know where you are and where you want to go, navigation isn't such a great problem. It's when you don't know the two points that it's difficult

$150k right out of uni in Canada seems unbelievable. Imagine if it was a $50k job the decision would have been a lot easier.

For me it's not about not having a job, but having a job you like. I work in software and love it. In the past I had a couple of jobs that I didn't like and I was always demotivated, it was killing my soul, but now I enjoy what I do.

I started following you very early on, on your journey. Really happy to see you followed your path.
During COVID, I got a job offer at one of the big 4 . My brain said do it, it’s the right thing to do . My heart fought me on it. I have been at this job for a year and a half and I have never been more miserable. I’m handing in my notice this week 😊

Having parents and/or mentors to lean on at a young age is HUGE…. Listen to those who are more experienced/wise
