The Destruction of Alderaan

In STARWARS (1977) visual effects were not as easy to come by as they are today. What I decided to attempt was a reimaging of the destruction of Alderaan where instead of an instant explosion, there is a wave of fire and death that consumes the planet in a matter of minutes. Much like the city of Jedha from ROGUE ONE, but on a planetary scale.
All effects were achieved in Adobe After Effects using internal and 3rd party plugins.
