FYI: Adywan made this back In 2005-2007 with nothing but a computer. Photoshop. and alot of Patience and Passion.

Even though the CGI in Adywans version is far from perfect, it is the only version that really shows how the asteroid field developed

The only thing I didn't like about his edit was the removal of two carefully chosen character shots. He removed Leia's brief distraught reaction as the weapon fired, then later he removed the brief shot of Tarkin right before the Death Star exploded. These shots were specifically chosen by the editors to drive our emotions and focus the scenes. Seeing Leia's helpless and angry expression makes us feel just a little bit worse about the planet's destruction, and the shot of Tarkin before the station blows gives us a satisfying reminder that his overconfident ass just bit the dust in a gloriously surprising way.

OMG. This really is amazing work.For a kid who saw the film in 1977 i thought it impossible to improve it sensitively, but to see it so beautifully restored is pure joy .Well done Adywan. Amazing.

The Adywan version seemed to be... violent (hinting to the rocking of the screen)

It's amazing to see what 1 person can do compared to a team of professionals. This guy should be hired by LucasFilm to do a 50th Anniversary set of the films and make it the final version officially. They could call it the Ultimate Star Wars collection. Retold by Luke Skywalker, in the new trilogy time period. "Here is how I remember it, from a certain point of view." Then play all 3 movies.
After it's success, LucasFilm could do the same with the Prequels. Again, showing it retold by Luke Skywalker's certain point of view as he reads it from Obi-Wan's journal.
They could build a mint off of this idea.
By working together, Adywan and LucasFilm could restore and recapture the love for Star Wars by giving fans the best versions and finalize it so no other versions can be made.
It would fix any canon issues and give a fresh look and feel to the full series.
Fans of the Original trilogy, fans of the prequels and fans of the newest trilogy could come together, bridging the gap and unite all fans in a wonderful way.
I can't think of a better way to open Star Wars Land theme park and celebrate 50 years of Star Wars.

The explosion effect from the finale of "Stargate SG1" works perfectly in Revisited. :-)

Why in the world would u take away that quick bit of Leia looking terrified just before her planet blows up?? Gives the scene more emotion!!

Adywan Revisited looks like the planet went out with a REAL Big Bang. It's put up with newer animation effects if someone knows that.

I honestly love the Special Edition and Adywan's explosions. The special editions may have issues but updating the big explosions is definitely one that works fantastically. Not to diss the original release, but the explosion in the original scene seems just a wee bit underwhelming considering an entire planet detonates. But to be fair they did a fantastic job regardless.

I love the Praxis Effect shockwave rings and the fiery debris cloud, it really sells home just how enormous and violent the explosion was. Same with both death stars exploding, it just looks so damn cool.

I still think an instant explosion of an entire planet looks silly. Even Adywan's which looks far better I have a hard time taking seriously (as serious as you can take Star Wars)

The scene needs extending and to show something similar to Rogue One like internal explosions then multiple externals before slowly exploding apart.
