John williams is pure genuis!!! This was one of the cues that was missed the first time around on this soundtrack. When the destined special edition of this soundtrack was released in '97 i didn't have to long for this marvelous cue anymore, as along with the other cues that were omitted the first time around. So glad "the destruction of Alderran" was finally released. John perfectly captured the terror of Liea's planet in preparation of being destroyed! Love the pounding of the drums along with the rising of the horns, very powerful cue!!! My second favorite Star wars soundtrack!!

While I really enjoyed Episode VII, I thought having that planet sized cannon that could destroy multiple planets was too OTT. The Destruction of Alderaan, while a single planet, remains much more impactful.
