I found that adding in 4 sets of behind the body wrist curls twice a week worked wonders for my stick forearms!

Can you do a video on calves next?
It would be interesting to know your take on How did the old school legends built massive calves with minimal equipment like we see in the bronze and silver era.

So glad you mentioned heavy hammers.
I've been supporting this for years! Progressively overloading on hammer curls made my brachioradialis grow like crazy.

Super underrated channel this is. Have gotten some of the best tipps and approaches from his videos and shorts.
Thanks for the good work!

Introducing hammer curls (and the cross body variation) has really stimulated forearm growth for me. It’s a grind (I’m a natty pushing 40 lol) but I can see the difference and feel it too (grip strength is through the roof compared to before). Amazing channel, great content!!!! ❤💪🏋️

If you're natty, isolate your forearms

Alternating standing dumbell curls pump the shit out of my forearms!

I've recently added in a few new forearm exercises that are a bit out of the ordinary.

Cross body curls, one arm at a time, with a weight plate suspended on a towel. Gripping the towel hard and not allowing my wrist to break forward puts a ton on tension on the area.

The next is landmine rows where I grab the thick end of the barbell. What I've been doing here is setting a timer (say 3 minutes) and alternating between each arm 5 reps at a time. It's easy at first but becomes very very difficult towards the end.

In that same setup, once my forearms are pumped to death, I'll do wrist curls again with the fat end of the barbell.

In Muscle & Motion, a muscle anatomy/training app for PT education says that the Brachioradialis is most emphasized in a neutral/thumbs up grip, while the brachialis is emphasized in a pronated grip (reverse curl) because biceps beachii and beachioradialis are then in an unadvantageous position.

So I'd say that hammer curls are actually better for targeting the brachioradialis.

Do neutral grip pull ups. The pump is insane

Absolutely love these no nonsense videos. Theres so much 🐄 💩 out there. I’ve seen the usual suspects post the ‘hammer curls don’t do anything’ crap. Since watching Peter’s videos from around 2 years ago, I’ve dumped all the fashionable rubbish. I stick to around 90% free weights, more intensity and more compound movements. Coupled with a high intake of red meat and dairy. As a natty, I’ve been asked recently what steroids I use. I take this as a huge compliment and must give PK a great deal of credit.

Not exactly old school, but I've had some good forearm development in the past year with kettlebells and resistance bands. I think with the RBs, I've been doing a lot of these hammer curl across the body kind of movement and the single hand non-alternating kettlebell swing, done with heavy weight, developed my forearms quite well. These days I'm working out in the gym with barbells, dumbells and cables but I am still loving having relatively strong forearms where my biceps kind of suck even after focusing on them a lot to undo the dreaded "spider physique" that I had.

Best exercise for back forearms in my opinion is when you put a barbel behind your back and do wrist curls. I recommend it.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the farmer carry. Nothing has blown up my forearms more than those

I have had good experiences with wrist+finger curls, but I do them after reverse curls and crank them out. Found the burn, and pump are amazing this way. Biggest game changer for my by far.
