Paul evangelized that way, he literally gave verbatim what it takes to get saved in Romans 10-9-10 "9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." He goes on telling us to preach and evangelize this message (which is essentially the sinners prayer confess and believe or fully trust in the finished work of the cross and the resurrection). American believers are weird, always adding layers of men's teaching and additional doctrines to the simple Gospel of Jesus Christ.

With the greatest respect the majority of evangelists are not relying on just one simple sinners prayer but are saying you must be born again and repent of your sins. The word of God does say if you confess me before man I will confess you before the Father so that prayer is confession of faith towards God. What Paul is not considering is the time that is spent following this very early point discipling each one where a deep relationship with Jesus is sought until they know for the reality of the scripture 'the Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are sons of God.'

I'm so confused now. I've watched Baucham, Macarthur, Washer, Evans... Turning all of them off and depending on the Holy Spirit, Bible and my pastor. God didn't intend for us to have access to all these men speaking into our salvation. 🤕

Wouldn't the Sinners Prayer be a prayer said, periodically, by those already saved RATHER than as an instrument of salvation?
So I guess I dont understand why this prayer, if understood in its proper place, is a problem.

My soul hurts I don’t hear this in my church. It’s nice words but no convictions! Certainly nothing on hell and excuse me the power of the Holy Spirit!! Nothing and I’m weaping…
