Help me make more cheesy content:

We all know how important it is to get your protein if you want to build muscle and get good gains. But of course, not everyone has the luxury of achieving high-protein diets or even struggle to actually get a lot of protein without feeling sick.

So if you struggle with getting a lot of protein, what exactly is the least amount of protein you can get away with and still build muscle? Obviously, it won't be the same amount of muscle as you would when maximizing protein, but what is the threshold for just getting at least a some meaningful gains? Let's find out!

It's good to know the minimum intake since protein is the most expensive macro

Thank you I collaborate with my like, You are the only channel that talks about the minimum amount of protein that should be consumed to obtain profits, instead of falling into the dishonest marketing and strategy of most YouTubers who only talk about the maximum amount.

I develop ckd a few months ago. I was in shocked, lose hope and given up on my workout. I have lost 7 kg of weight which includes a lot of the muscles I have been working on for 3 years. At the age of 23 I don't understand how am I able this disease I can't pin point to the cause and even the doctors were confused since everything is fine in my medical checkup except for my urine creatine levels. I wish everyone the best in their fitness journey and pay more attention to your diet and the things you put into your body. Too much of anything is as bad as not having enough of them.

Just snort whey in 5 minute intervals throughout the day 💪

I follow an Indian vegetarian diet and have been maintaining the same shape, muscle mass that I used to have when I used to consume protein supplements.
Supplement companies control the entire narrative about protein, you can’t say anything negative about overhyped protein or an entire army of paid social media influencers will start trolling you.
I easily consume 1 gram per KG of body weight of protein by consuming a balanced diet of milk and milk products, fresh fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts, seeds.
I have tried 1.5 to 1.7 grams of protein per kg but I do not feel any difference compared to now when I take just 1 gram per kg. On the contrary, my uric acid levels have reduced, inflammation has reduced and all other side effects of taking protein supplements have vanished

The way I see it, the general recommendations are designed for the public in general who may not be as versed in nutrition. If you don’t want to eat ridiculously high amounts of protein to see results, learn & focus on foods with quality protein. Food labels don’t tell you the whole story. 6g protein from an egg is not equivalent to 6g from rice. Learn the foods with good amino acid profiles, put your dietary focus there and I’m willing to bet you’ll see great gains even without hitting some high number most can’t even stomach.

I wouldn't say 0.8 is the least. Since prisoner can still get ripped when their meals are mostly carb and they definitely doesn't eat enough calories or protein to get shreded, but they do get huge muscle.

I have a kidney condition and my nephrologist has limited me to 80 grams of protein a day. Thank you for finally answering a question I've had for a while now

I've made gains on rice & beans in college. My recovery was inconsistent, though.

I always say this. I don't know if people just want to seem interesting or whether they're intent on overcomplicating things, but I have no idea why people propagate the idea that diet is more important than exercise for gaining muscle. You only have to eat enough protein and calories within the context of a bog-standard diet and you'll have taken care of 95% of your gains. But no amount of diet will compensate for shitty training. Training on the other hand, is dependent on MANY MORE variables: frequency, execution, exercise selection, rep quality, how hard your sets are, recovery, frequency, rep range, etc.Getting just one of these wrong can impact your gains immensely. Even that stuff isn't necessarily complicated, though. Getting all of those right is simple. There's just way more moving parts.

Needed this. Sometimes when I haven't consumed my protein limit, I skip working out for that day

I’m 5’10 230 pounds new at the gym my plan is to lose weight and build muscle. I eat about 2-3 chicken breast a day. Hopefully that’s enough protein I’m getting? Even if it’s minimal I try to eat some veggies on the side as well.

Thanks for this! I'm just trying to lose body fat and I'm not really focusing on gaining muscle right now. The lower limit would really help me lose weight while preventing muscle loss

I love this channel! Where could I get paid to be within a research study like this?! I have been a consistent lifter for the last 2 years and I don't believe I get near .8 grams of protein to my 240 pound body weight. I like my physic and I am still hitting new strides to my lifts every month though. I would love to add to this study!

Nice I have been consuming 1-1.2gm/kg for last 3 years. It's working for me.

It changes from person to person, I guess. Some people claim to be unable to make gains unless they consume an entire cow every day, but I have consistently dropped my protein intake and noticed no loss in gains or any kind of downsides. Meat, milk and cheese are my favorite foods, so I naturally went back on a high protein diet, but I think everyone should experiment and see how low they can go with protein without giving up gains.
