There are a lot of other lean protein sources out there, but these are the ones that I tend to go for as for me, they're either the cheapest, most convenient, or most calorie friendly.

Hunger and craving management is the key to a successful cut, so wherever I can save calories, this allows me to have bigger or an extra meal, or fit in my indulgences.

Chicken breast
- the classic dieting protein source
- it's super easy to hit your protein with this
- it's extremely lean, and it's pretty versatile
- if you learn how to make recipes that include chicken breast, it makes it extremely easy to hit your protein

Rump steak
- steak is amazing because you can pretty much just eat it as is. Drown it in gravy, and I could literally eat this everyday
- Between this and chicken breast, I tend to alternate between these 2 cuts of meat when I'm making recipes

Greek yoghurt
- Originally I wasn't really a fan of this, but it's grown on me
- Some low fat greek yoghurt have less than 1 gram of fat per serve
- It's pretty filling if you want a smaller protein hit, and add some fruits to it and it's so good

Prawns
- Not the cheapest, but I put it on here because it's convenient
- You can put it in stir fries, make fresh spring rolls with it, but I love just eating them as is
- it also just keeps your hands busy

Protein shake
- Not the most filling, especially when you're in a deficit but by far the most convenient
- Whenever I want to save as much calories as I can to fit something like chips and ice cream 👌🏼

Canned Tuna is also insane, like 25g of protein for ~140cal only, in a single can

I weigh myself every day! Even though I’m on a caloric deficit, I struggle to deal with scale fluctuations! Even tho I know it’s water retention due to carbs, salt, or hormones, it still breaks my heart having to deal with that.

Cup of egg whites =26.6g protein 133 cal
Tuna can=23g protein 140 cal

Total of you mix together 49.6g carb and 273 calories

Bro you just dropped the most hard prawn edit 🔥

Most North indians are not very familiar with sea food

Coastal indians got all the prawns and crabs 🦀

I really like eye of round steak from Costco! It is theoretically tough, but all of the muscle fibers go the same way so if you slice it correctly, it isn't too tough. It's also super cheap

Same, I also add in fish like salmon or tuna like once a week with a creamy lemon pepper sauce or w/e flavor I feel like. Good stuff

People think that I’m weird for liking this, but I think cottage cheese is the most underrated protein source. If you get 1% or 2%, it is about 12 grams of protein per 100 calories.

I’ve started adding sugar-l free Metamucil to protein shakes. It adds a lot of fiber and makes the shake more filling. The Metamucil is orange flavored and goes well with vanilla protein powder. It kinda tastes like a dreamsicle.

Tuna is basically THE protein to calories ratio food. Like 30g of protein to 120-140 calories, no carbs, 1 g of fat You'll be hard pressed to find a protein shake with that ratio. Careful about the mercury content though. Like you probably shouldn't eat 2 cans a day for forever but on a strict cut I eat a ton. Tinned salmon and sardines aren't quite as good on the protein, closer to 20 g a can, but they're good as well.
