I agree with Anakin, it’s disrespectful they way they went about it. They basically told him he can sit on the grown up table and be a pretend adult while he gets his happy meal.

I love how mace windu is angry but just. It’s something that’s overlooked in these movies. You can see he’s almost taming the dark side in his eyes.

The Jedi officially sealed their fate here by asking Anakin to violate the Jedi Code and commit treason. As Darth Maul stated, the Jedi are hypocrites.

I love this scene because it applies so much to real life, imagine working a job and working your butt off to get a promotion. Then they give you acting manager, all the work none of the pay and true status.

From the moment when the council denied 'Anakin' the rank as jedi master that basically open the floodgates for 'Anakin' to become 'Darth Vader' .

After rewatching this scene, I wonder if the Jedi Council tested Anakin by denying him the rank of master to see how he would react emotionally to the suppose decision to ultimately see if he is emotionally mature to gain the respect of such ranking.

The look Obi-Wan gave to Windu says it all.

I don’t think Obi-Wan was the right fit to be Anakin’s master. Anakin needed a father like figure that provided strong discipline for him to control his emotions and understand where he is coming from on an emotional level. Qui-Gon understood him which is why he was like a father figure and would have been the master Anakin needed to grow and overcome this weakness of his. Obi-wan was 100% correct, they were more brothers than master and apprentice.

Palpatine set him up, he knew they won't accept him and made him more angry in return drawing him closer to the Dark Side.

Anakin went right away to the council to tell them that Palpatine was spying. They literally shorted him from the get go as a kid. They were master gas lighters.

The Jedi council made here a huge mistake: they should have never accepted Palpatine's request. This would have slow down his plans and Anakin would have accepted it more (he was pissed of because he was appointed but without the rank of master). Refusing would have sent a message to Palpatine: dont try to enter Jedi affairs!
Then Palpatine would have had 2 options:
1) find a different way to grow Anakin hate for Jedi but It would have taken time and risk to be uncovered.
2) force the situation revealing himself to Anakin, turn him to the dark side and lure Windu and Kenobi into a trap to kill them. That done, execute Order 66 but he couldnt be sure 100% of efficiency and that they could win against 2 elite masters.
Any of this 2 solutions would have put Palpatine in an unpleasent situation without the control.

A lot of people seem to overlook how much of a non moral and non Jedi-like move it was for the council to assign anakin to spy on palpatine. It really shows where the Jedi begin to fall and where anakin eventually gets his rationale for why they are evil
