I don’t know if it was intentional but Anakin giving Mace Windu those angry sights are quite a great foreshadowing for their eventual fate

I simply love how Qui-Gon doesn't listen to the Council, acts in accordance with the will of the Force, goes by instinct and puts the entire Council to their place.

“With time and training Ani, you will.”

*throws Darth Sidious into a pit and restores balance to the Force*

Imagine how bad Qui-Gon would have snapped at the Jedi council during Ahsoka’s trial had he lived to see it

It makes me sad that this 9 year old boys life was ruined by this movie. He did not deserve to be mistreated by these “Star Wars fans”.

Mace: he will not be trained
Mace years later: we do not grant you the rank of master

Mace just never liked Anakin

I totally missed that look that Kenobi gave Qui gon when he said he would train the boy. I can't imagine how hurt and betrayed Obi wan must have felt

Qui-Gon: *refuses to train Obi-Wan until the kid almost dies twice*
Qui-Gon: *finally takes Obi-Wan as his padawan only to leave him on a planet to fight a civil war as a teenager among child soldiers*
Also Qui-Gon: *meets Anakin and is ready to fight the Council to train him despite only knowing him for two minutes*
Council: What about Obi-Wan?
Qui-Gon: Who?
Obi-Wan: I don’t know what I was expecting.

Master Qui Gon is a great example of being a Jedi

Qui Gon would have made a better Master for Anakin than Obi Wan, I felt he better understood him. Obi Wan did his best but he was too idealistic concerning the Jedi.

“He’s too old to be trained.”

“But he is the chosen one. You must see it. I take Anakin as my apprentice.”

Same energy.

The thing is Anakin somehow, at some point, saw Obi Wan as a "rival" in terms of strenght because their relationship was built like if they were brothers, but not master and apprendice, thing that would have gone way better with Qui Gonn which has the right temper and experience to train Anakin on a different way.

They seriously had the audacity to treat Anakin like garbage the moment he arrived to the temple. They just discovered a kid who’s strong in the force, who has a clouded future, and who may also be the chosen one. Why would they turn him away with all these factors involved? If he’s strong in the force, it would be best for him to be on their side, if his future is clouded, it should be the Jedi’s job to turn him to the light and raise him to be good, and if he’s the chosen one, then again, they’d want him on their side. The Jedi really did cause their own downfall and Qui-Gon was really the only smart one with common sense.

There is a reason why Palpatine manipulated the war so that Yoda, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were not near Anakin during the events of Episode III. He knew that if they were around, it would be difficult and dangerous to turn Anakin to the Dark Side. For Anakin's relationship with his former Apprentice, Master, and Grand Master or even two of them combined were as strong as or stronger than Palpatine's.

Mace: He’s too old.

Qui-Gon: Didn’t you take in Master Kota when he was 18?

Mace: …

Watching episodes 2 and 3 made me wonder what would have happened if qui gonnJinn had survived

You can tell Obi-Wan while proud that Qui-Gon considers him ready for the trials, must still be kinda hurt that his master is ready to ditch him so suddenly... That must have figured in Obi-Wan's clear resentment of Anakin, at least in ROTC... Subtly, in this scene Anakin's relation to Obi-Wan and the Jedi in general starts on the wrong foot.

I love how blunt Mace is when he says Anakin will not be trained!

How to create darth vader step by step by the jedi council
Step 1:distrust him for no reason
Step 2:never allowed him to save his mother
Step 3:deceive him about obi wan fake death
Step 4:constantly treat him like a shit for no reason
Step 5:expel ahsoka for the crime she never did just for the politics and act their did nothing or show no remorse or regret for what they did to ahsoka
