regardless on what the jedi thought of palpatine anakin should have been granted the rank of master he has done and gone through things most masters themselves couldn't hell he literally killed count dooku a feat that if obi wan could get promoted just by killing a sith anakin should of had the same thing happen to him i really feel the jedi denied him the rank of master just to spite him especially if it is true that a master couldn't be made without a grand masters approval and before this we saw anakin consult yoda about his visions and yoda knew something was up between anakin and padme and must of known anakins reasoning for wanting to be a master so really yoda was being a asshole for the sake of being a asshole

He was a hero of the Clone Wars and one of if not the most influential Jedi in the war. If he had been given the rank of master he'd have been several times less likely to have turned. Mace was a damn idiot.

Can you explain the structure of the council? Intuitively, at least to me, it makes no sense for rank to affect role in the council. Would you need to be master to vote or something? If he can’t sit in and listen to the council then why bother saying that he’s on it? Since it’s expected that every member be a master this question is pretty meaningless. It’s not like they would require everyone to be a master and come up with a plan for if a member is not.

Basically, I don’t understand the assumption that he’s strategically different to Palpatine just because he’s not a master while on the council.

Anakin is a hero but that’s it. I do admit there were better ways to handle the situation but still he is no fit as a Jedi master.

Chancellor has no right to tell the council who to promote or put in the council, that’s Jedi stuff, like Jedi internal shit. Besides that simply from how Anakin reacted? Hell no.

No, he should have been strangled at birth or, failing this level of prescience, by Qui Gon after he'd served his initial purpose of winning the pod race, as being far too dangerous to let live. Qui Gon should have realized a boy with such a high count, such precocious powers, already so late in life. and a temperament he could have easily discerned as ultimately fearful, should not be allowed to develop Jedi level abilities.
At minimum, the council should have refused to train him and stripped Kenobi of his Jedi status and imprisoned him in some Jedi black site for his obstinate insistence he would train Anakin regardless of Council's ruling.
