There's a comic where after order 66 Vader walks into the council chamber and says " by unanimous vote as the last surviving member of this council, I hereby grant anakin the rank of master"

It's so nice that someone finally understands that Obi-wan wasn't a jedi master until after Attack of the clones, it's a very common misconception.

Ashoka left because the Jedi counsel stabbed her in the back for political benefit with the senate. They turned her over to face a kangaroo court for a crime she didnt commit. In doing so, they sabotaged Anakin's ability to train a knight. Despite her leaving the order, she became more skilled than many Jedi knights thanks to Anakin's training.

According to the films, the real reason why Anakin was denied the rank of master was bc Palpatine forced the council to put him on the council. They knew Anakin would just act as a spy for Palpatine. So to keep the secrets of the Jedi away from Palpatine (and to send a message to him as well), the council allowed Anakin to join but w/o being a master.

Asoka was offered the rank of Jedi Knight after the bombing of the Jedi temple, and what she had gone through was deemed her trial. That was when she walked away from the order. So she attained the rank of Jedi Knight just didn't accept it.

That's even more sad to know about because it was directly the fault of the council that Ashoka left the order in the first place. That really is outrageous and unfair.

“I cared about you!” “I stood by you”
“And you left me” “You were selfish..” - Anakin to Ahsoka about leaving the Order.

Yea and no. Of Ahsoka was offered the rank of knight after she was found innocent, so technically he did train a padawan to knighthood she just left before the ceremony could take place. The Chancellor is who wanted Anakin appointed to the council and to slit him they denied Anakin the rank

Except that Ahsoka was literally told that the challenge she faced was her Jedi Knight trial-and she had completed it. So technically she was a Jedi Knight when she left the order

True. But I also think Anakin’s denial of master was another example of how the Jedi betrayed HIM. He WAS worthy in skill and wisdom (by this point anyway). And the council had looked past legalities before (even just with Anakin becoming a padowan in the first place). But because the CIRCUMSTANCES of Anakin’s appointment weren’t ideal (because it was Palpetine’s idea), they only let him on the council because that was the least they had to do. The granting of master was avoidable and therefore out of the question.

Or idk, “the Clone Wars series didn’t exist yet so you can’t use the canon of the show to explain the writing behind the movie”.

Ah yes one of the memes to come out of that trilogy we grant you a seat at the council but do not give you the rank of master.

Not all Knights have to train an apprentice to become a Master. It's just the quickest path.

He then showed them who was the real master by killing them all.😅

Anakin: Ahsoka, this was your Jedi trial, you can be a knight. Just take the promotion before you leave, please!

Ahsoka: see ya later, Skyguy.

I heard somewhere that the reason he wasn't given the rank of master was because of his want or lust for it, he at the time already had the skills of a master jedi but not the mindset of one.

That probably would've also been a source of anger, since the council pushed her out.

I always thought they approved him to be on the council because they wanted to stay in good political standing with chancellor Palpetine, but they refused him the rank of master because they could sense the confusion and conflict in him and knew he wasn’t ready, and it wasn’t safe to give him access until he was ready. I would guess those factors also played into their decisions, but what you showed in this video helps it make even more sense.

Not only that’s a slap in the face of Anakin, but the fact that Luminara didn’t lose her rank or receive any type of talk because her apprentice Barris literally became a terrorist.

One word. Windu. Windu was the primary force behind driving Ahsoka from the order. Windu went out of his way to spite Anakin when he was placed on the council. Windu even was the final straw that drove Anakin to the dark side.

While it may be true that the Jedi counsel didn't trust Anakin, I don't think it was just the padawan/master thing. But he does come across as one of those characters who is easily affected by emotions, especially when you have someone like Palpatine in a leader position.
