How To STOP Emotional Triggers Due To Narcissistic Abuse| #shorts
Trying to stop the emotional triggers that come because of narcissistic abuse by sheer will power alone is like trying to change the direction of a train that's going straight but there are no tracks to change that direction. We cannot stop emotional triggers with sheer will power alone - what we resist persists and the more we try to stop ptsd triggers that way it's almost like the worse they get!!!

narcissistic abuse recovery, how narcissistic abuse creates complex ptsd or cptsd, healing cptsd after narcissistic relationship, how to stop feeling triggered, stuck in fight or flight for years, cptsd recovery, healing after emotional trauma, why won't emotional triggers just go away

I live in a triggered state even years later after therapy and yoga it’s really hard - raised by one, then had kids with one of these people. It’s awful.

I’ve been told I essentially triggered myself, I could have stopped the trigger with my mind. I mean that’s very hard to do right now, so I appreciate your insight and suggestion.

Hello,
I just thought it would be appropriate to tell you how much your work means to me. I haven’t watched a lot of your videos, but the ones I have seen show me that you understand about narcissistic abuse and care. I just turned 18 last month, and have been grey rocking my dad for about 2 years. Lately it’s just been feeling so hopeless since he always comes around periodically to try and find a way back into my life. I wish I could give folks like you a hug in real life. I never thought I’d find people like me; even walking around my private college campus I feel like an alien. I have been depressed, anxious, and at times suicidal in response to my family’s treatment as well as the atmosphere here in college. I promise I won’t give up, people such as yourself are what keep me standing firm even when the odds seem against me.

Thank you so much for having a channel on here. You’re really helping me to understand this. I felt like I was all alone and crazy! He wants me to feel like I’m crazy so he can keep shifting the blame onto me, like always! Everything is always my fault. What I do and say, I have no problem holding myself accountable for, and everything he does and says, I have to take responsibility for that as well. My friends keep telling me he’s going to kill me eventually, because his anger is so borderline violent. I cry all the time out of exasperation. My friends are fed up with hearing about it. I moved from Ohio to San Diego for this. He’s the only person I have here and he knows it, and he gets satisfaction from it, I can tell.

What you are describing is worked with EMDR therapy. I recommend it to anyone who suffers from trauma.

So true!!! Thank you for this!! ❤ I’ve been feeling so confused, because now I’m in a healthy relationship. Your brain wants to second guess itself. I love how you put it!

Well done. Powerful message, to the point, great analogy. Only a person with clarity and deep understanding could put out a short message like that.

How do you actually, or practically, lay down the tracks or neural pathways to stop the triggers?

When I tell y’all GOD knows EXACTLY what I need at ALL TIMES!!! I had a huge trigger last night and felt anxious af sms it felt like I was being choked and had a sore throat due to the Anxiey!! And it just wouldn’t stop!!! The only thing that kind of helped was me blasting music and dancing/vibing out but the physical symptoms are so scary!!! This YouTube short is th FIRST short that popped up on my homepage just now!!!
