Keto has completely saved my life. Even if I don’t lose another pound, I will NEVER go back to eating the garbage the SAD recommends. I feel way too fantastic to go back. 50+ pounds down in 3 months, and still going!! Keto on, my friends!!

2 1/2 yrs ago, I started Keto, thinking it was going to get to be too expensive to continue long term. Before long, my family saw what I was eating, and wanted that too. (Oh Man, I thought, this is gonna kill us financially). No. It solved several long term problems for us (diabetes, a heart attack, obesity, hyperactivity, and mental health problems). Still expensive...no. Serving meat and low carb vegetables is not expensive at all. What was draining our wallet was the cokes, the potato chips, the cookies and cakes, and they were making us sick. The addition of almond flour, and coconut flours weren't a good choice, and we stopped trying to adapt Keto to our former lifestyle. I believe that in itself was a marker where I stopped losing weight...I was trying to adapt Keto and trying to eat as I was before. BIG mistake. No, leave the breads, the deserts behind. Still hungry, have another bite of meat. Don't eat when you're bored. Go do something, get busy. I count myself lucky to have found Dr. Berry's channel. Thank you.

You are the ONLY ONE that addresses the price issue for low income households!!! Thank you for considering the health of those who are less fortunate financially! 💕

1. Nutrient density: Eating should be about harvesting nutrients that the body cannot produce. Calories (energy) are secondary to nutrients (parts for the machinery [the body]).
2. Carbohydrate intake: Unlike protein (amino acids) and lipids (fatty acids), there are no carbohydrates essential for human life that the body does not produce. Therefore, modulate carbohydrate intake based on how your body responds to them (i.e., if you experience inflammation or other health problems, try reducing your carbohydrate intake).
3. Food sensitivity: Some foods (especially plants) contain chemicals (e.g., phytotoxins) that can induce inflammation and autoimmune conditions. First identify your sensitivities via methodical trial and error, then avoid them!
4. Satiety: Nutrient-dense fats and proteins induce the body to secrete the hormones responsible for the sensation of "being full".
5. Fasting: "Not eating" induces a hormonal profile that facilitates the body using its stored fat as fuel. This applies to both intermittent fasting and prolonged fasting.
6. Ancestral appropriateness: Eat mostly foods that humans have eaten for millions of years, such as fatty meats, organ meats, and some plants. Be cautious of foods that humans have eaten for only thousands of years, such as grains, dairy, and alcohol. Avoid foods that humans have only eaten for tens to hundreds of years, such as vegetable/seed oils and highly-processed foods.
7. Avoid factory products: While many processed foods ("food products") are considered safe, there is no long-term data to support this conclusion, and the consumption of such foods coincides with the obesity epidemic. Instead strive to eat one/minimal-ingredient foods. NB: flour (even almond flour) is a processed food.
8. Adequate minerals: Humans cannot synthesize minerals and food raised/grown in nutrient-depleted soil may lack minerals, so take a mineral supplement to ensure adequate intake.
9. Avoid fad diets: The ketogenic diet may seem like a fad but it is actually well-documented in cultures around the world over the course of history. In contrast, modern dietary recommendations have only existed for a few decades and are largely influenced by politics and lobbying.
10. Sugar addiction: Carbohydrates are habit-forming, and the more processed the carbohydrate the more addictive. Like caffeine, sugar is a drug. "Sugar cravings" are actually sugar withdrawal!
11. Price vs quality: High-quality products are more expensive than low-quality products. Buy high-quality foods when you can afford them, but recognize that even a "low-quality proper diet" is typically healthier than a non-proper diet.

I went cold turkey after many years of drinking getting hammered everyday n night. I literally felt that I was gonna go crazy or was starting to go crazy, when I dropped to 10 carbs a day from superhigh american standard diet, I did feel the withdrawals aswell, but then one day. It was all gone. Just like that. Then I realized, that Sugar is ONE HELL OF A DRUG.

After having spent 10 years as a nurse at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix I feel that I have good intuition about what is BS and what makes sense from a medical perspective. I feel that you Dr. Berry are providing excellent information about what it takes to maintain a healthy body. My eyes were opened with your videos on salt intake and bacon to name a few. I respect the info you provide and will continue to watch your videos. Thanks for all you do!

Back in February my doc told me I had an A1C of 6.31--pre-diabetic nearly to full diabetes. He asked me if I'd like some drugs for that and suggested metformin. I'd heard bad things about metformin so I told him no and decided to start doing some research. I knew all too well how bad diabetes is. The more I learned the more I cut out carbs and eventually started on 16/8 fasting as of a couple months ago and keto as well. I've lost 45 pounds and reduced my A1C to 5.4 as of last month. My doc had suggested reducing my worst weakness carb and never mentioned intermittent fasting. Take control of your own health and NEVER ASSUME YOUR DOCTOR WILL TELL YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW. My thanks to people like Dr. Berry and Dr. Fung.

It does become affordable to eat better because you’re not as hungry and require less food. Experienced myself this past year

I was almost vegetarian, diagnosed with prediabetes! Doc pushes me with drugs but I refused and reversed with a low-carb, high-fat high-protein diet. Not only reversed prediabetes but rosacea, joint pain has gone too! Thank you Dr.Ken Berry for your tremendous works on super educational podcasts! 💯❤️

Not even a month on what is turning into keto-vore with fasting and I'm watching my friends drink what was once my favorite beer and chips, One even ate a bag of peanut M&Ms my once favorite poison while on a long drive. Truly no cravings at all. Yay!

I wish I could find a doctor in my area that practices like Dr. Berry. While I know I am doing the right diet it’s hard to hear it from the practitioner that recommends a plant based diet and asks me if I am worried about “colon cancer”. I just roll my eyes and say “no”. I walk out and am grateful for the knowledge this community has given me! ❤

I am 56, regular meat eater and I don't remember the last time I got any ailments while everybody around me coughing puffing and winning about some illness. I am grateful to teachers/doctors like Ken.

I first found Dr. Ken Berry 10 months ago. I am 63 & had been diagnosed (twice) that I had lupus/auto immune diseases. I was acquiring all kinds of health issues when I had been a vegetarian and felt I was fit and healthy my whole life. I had oxalates in my joints to where I could not walk normally. Arthritis is my hands and wrists. I had frequent urination all night long keeping me from sleeping. I was pre-diabetic, I was diagnosed with osteoporosis, I had never been on hormone replacement therapy and thought that was a good thing; however, my hormones were seriously out of whack and I began to gain weight when I had been thin my whole life. I bought into the lies about exercise, counting calories, watching the scales all of which backfired on me. Since becoming carnivore, all of that has been reversed. I no longer get on the scales nor care about counting calories. Plus I'm a lazy carnivore. I only work out on my property doing chores. Such FREEDOM! I'm very mobile, active, sleeping better and experience NO PAIN anywhere in my body. Dr. Berry and Kelly Hogan saved my life! THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH!! :-)

When I was in 5th grade in 1968, we had a class on what life would be like in the future (now!). I clearly remember the lesson on foods. We were told that the family farms would take a back seat to factory farming (to meet the demands of a rapidly growing population), and the majority of food would be lacking proper nutrients because the soils would be overworked and deplete of nutrients. The factory foods would also be loaded with chemicals and other ingredients that would be bad for the human body. This would cause many health problems. We were told that poor foods would be marketed heavily and pushed on us. Certain vegetables that were easy and quick to grow, would be pushed as being good for us but were actually lacking in nutrients. Dr. Berry nailed it!

Started the carnivore diet 3 months ago. Lost 37 pounds since and the results are amazing. I’m 40 and I think I look better than when I was in my 20s. I went from 225lbs to 188lbs. My goal is to get shredded and I’m definitely cutting up.

My sister was with me overnight and in the morning she ate 2 scrambled eggs in butter and two pieces of bacon and she noticed that her glucose monitor actually started going down from 150 to 120. She didn’t believe me about eating a high fat diet based on natural foods. She went home and cleaned out her pantry
