Welcome to a new video "Chair Workout | 20 Minute Strength Training for Seniors, Beginners!"

In this 20 minute video, we will build muscle to combat the loss of muscle and bone density that occurs as we age. Regardless of your age, building strength through exercise is essential for maintaining mobility and reducing the risk of falls or other injuries.

Exercise at home in a chair or standing and increase strength with dumbbells, water bottles, cans or the weight of your choice. Mom shows how it's done in a chair! Need help finding the right weight? Check out our video:

You gals have helped me change my life. My physician noticed my improvements and wanted to know what I have been doing. She sat with me for TEN extra minutes to hear all about you and what I have learned here. Love this ... I have been working out with these two lovely ladies for close to 2 years. I've kept off 70 pounds, no longer pre-diabetic and my cholesterol is under 100, I feel fantastic and look forwrad to each of these workouts. I will conquer the 60 minute walk !! Thanks so much for all you do!!! A very loyal follower.

Awesome that you show both alternatives. I’m fortunate enough to be able to workout standing up, but for those who can’t or if someday I can’t, this is great. Thank you, ladies. 💞💪🏻

I just completed this exercise after a short (10 minute) Pilates set. (My core is still strong, miraculously!)
I am following this with a brisk walk for a mile or so.
As Red Pollard, the jockey, says in "Seabiscuit" while addressing the horse, "I know. I know. l'm in a hurry too, Pops. But you know what Hadrian said about Rome: 'Brick by brick, my citizens. Brick by brick" ♥

Good morning from Australia. Is cold here today. I enjoyed doing the line dance No 1 and this strength training. I shall add this to do as well during the week . Just love greeting your smiling faces as the day dawns here. Commencing these videos in COVID was so vital to me . I continue you with you and definitely encourage others to view the videos and join you.

A lovely routine which gave me room to improvise and make it even more challenging. Some new moves, too, made my eyes open wide and my mouth turn up. Mom was marvelous, and you, April, were an inspiration as always...Anastasia

Ladies, I just want to thank you for a wonderful work out. My foot is in a boot for the next 2 to 3 weeks so I was able to do about 90% of this video and I really appreciate you doing some seated workouts. Keep up the good work and God bless.

Know the importance of mixing up exercises to surprise our muscles, so really appreciated the palms in/elbows up (new to me) and the core moves.

Thank you so much for including modifications for seated exercises. I have been following you for 2 years and have always dome them standing, but I have recently developed tendinitis in my right foot and need to stay off it. Seated workouts to the rescue! Love, love, love these videos and the two of you! Thank you. I really wish I would have found you a few years ago when my Mom was still with us. I am 58 and the last few years have been very challenging. Unfortunately in the midst of a great deal of stress I did not prioritize my own well-being and my strength is significantly impacted. I found you by searching for a "senior" workout because so many videos push too hard too soon for me. These gentle, guided sessions are providing encouragement I need to get started, challenging my current comfort zone along with your reminders to tailor the workout to my own abilities. I have really enjoyed the interaction between mother and daughter and your sense of humor! More please! Thank you so much for this resource! 💓

Another nice one from my 2 favorite exercise people! For those seniors who don't have the finger strength to lift dumbbells, could you do a strength workout using only wrist weights please? Amazon sells an assortment of different wrist weights starting at 1/2 pound. Thanks & have a Sunny Week -

Thank you beautiful ladies. I am so grateful I stumbled across your videos. I saw this last night and was really looking forward to doing it this morning. I am very sick at the moment from recurrent UTIs; currently on 6th this year (related to RA). I have let exercise go, but have now decided I have to get back to it, no matter how sick I feel. This exercise is just right for me, and even though I feel nauseous and have stomach pain, I nevertheless feel that my pores are open and my cells are alive with energy. My whole body is breathing. I will be joining in with you every day, I expect, and am now about to explore your other videos having also completed the cooldown. FYI I am 76 and live in Australia.

For my presentation of hypertrophy training for the elderly, I was looking for (and expecting) a video of ineffectual time waste training for elderly, but heck, actually, this is a really cool & effective training! I'm impressed.
