sorry but 1:35 is simply not true. yes, lots of rich people are allowed to skirt the rules whether they're famous or not but roe being overturned affects all women everywhere and the horrible anti-lgbt bills that have come out are dangerous and life-threatening for those of us in the queer community. she is part of the queer community and has featured local drag artists as openers for all of her show she absolutely cares about lgbtq rights and trans rights she even brought it up when she accepted her VMA for best new artists.

this idea that celebrities and rich people will literally never be affected by anything that happens in government just because they're rich and famous is absolutely ridiculous.

she was literally born and raised in Missouri in a tiny town and has worked her ass off for 10 years to get where she is. to completely write off everything she ever does and says as important or intelligent or worthwhile just because she's an artist that makes music and happened to blow up and become really popular in the last year doesn't mean anything.

I'm rich too and Trump becoming president almost ruined my f*cking life, so don't tell me that I don't have a stake in what matters or that I'm not allowed to have empathy for other human beings just because I have money.

just because I never have to worry about where my next meal comes from doesn't mean I don't care where other people's meals comes from. I'm a communist.

not to mention that anything the the government does relating to climate change affects all of us no matter our wealth the wealthy you are the easier you'll have it and the more time you can put off it affecting you but you're not free from hurricanes and scorching heat it will still affect all of us we all share this planet together.

I agree with everything she said and the backlash is predictable but ridiculous nobody has basic media literacy or critical thinking skills they can't understand nuance and they don't give anyone the benefit of the doubt nor do they actually look into the full thing they hear one out of context line and they just make up their mind about what she believes and protect their own thoughts on to it without actually knowing the truth.
