She cancelled her spot in a music festival, not her own concert. The fans who bought the tickets still get to attend an entire festival with several other artists. She can't control the refunds because the tickets were for the whole festival, not just for her.

Sure, it's still disappointing for those who may have attended the festival *just* to see her perform, but it's not nearly as extreme as if it was just her own concert, which this video makes it seem by the way he narrates it.

Cancelling the day before the show is crazy, like if you've been feeling stressed out for a while which is understandable, it should've been cancelled a week before imo so that at least people won't be flying out and just to be disappointed. I do hope she refunds all the people their money though

Edit: I would like to state that I didn't know that it was a festival before I had seen this video. It won't change the fact that a lot of people spent their money but it's kinda like an oof moment for them since they did put their money's worth for one artist. I don't need multiple people telling me it was festival, I got it the first time lol.

Everyone is a mental health advocate until they see actual mental health symptoms. Her life is far more important than a concert. Imagine waking up and seeing millions of people insulting and disparaging you. You have no clue what that would feel like let alone for someone which bipolar disorder.

She spent ten years to get her career off the ground and now she’s chickening out. I get she’s a person, but she’s a person who CHOSE to pursue an extremely stressful career. She’s right to acknowledge the stress and crazy fans. But at the same time, that’s like going to the pool and getting upset you got wet. Chappell Roan’s fame skyrocketed overnight. Typically fame gradually increases with an artist but in Chappell’s case, she’s been trying to break into the industry for years and now she’s a giant sensation. I don’t think she was prepared for how overwhelming it all is. I think she’s having an extremely hard time adjusting but this has been her dream and she should still chase it no matter how scary it may be. Hopefully she’ll bounce back soon and continue doing music💕

My friend was so excited to go to this concert. She booked her tickets months before, saving up every penny from her allowance and her job, then when it revealed that the concert was canceled, my friend immediately called me and bursted into tears. Poor girl

For her to cancel like this, I’d like to give her the benefit of doubt as a new celebrity. I’ve had my mental health fail me and there’s truly nothing you can do at points.

She could have been having panic attacks for days, trying to rough it out and it’s simply not working. If she tried to preform in that condition, she’d probably have one on stage and have to dip. Unfortunate situation for all.
