Bakersfield does not have high home prices 😂 We relocated from Los Angeles and bought a house - cash - for less than we sold our condo in LA for. But you know what, I love videos like this because it’ll keep people out and keep the home prices affordable haha

I work long distance in Bakersfield and most of my co-workers are native to the area. The best thing about people who call Bakersfield home is, they don’t take the nasty jabs at their city seriously. Folks from Bako have a great sense of humor and are proud of their city no matter what! Because there’s lots of things to be proud of!

I lived there for at least 40 years and I actually was a delivery driver to Bolthouse and Paramount farms and enjoyed it for that long, yes it was arduous, long and channeling but I loved it. Moved out in 2017 for financial reasons and I don’t regret it. I will carry these companies to my grave as something that they gave me a road to be successful. I’m in Wisconsin but Bakersfield will always be in my heart ..

I left Bakersfield which is my home town in 95. When I was 30, I’ve been away for 25 years and live on the east coast. When I come to visit family and friends it always puzzles me why people stay. It’s everything this video says it is and more. I have almost no good memories there and was amazed at the opportunities I found in my new state.I make more money than I ever dreamed and my quality of life is about 1000% better.
This is not a insult on Bakersfield but simply the truth.

It's because the prevailing wind is southward. Every bit of pollution from the bay Area through the Central Valley is blown south and hits a dead end at Oildale. It is literally California's septic tank.

I have live in many places around the world throughout my life. Bakersfield people are among the most generous and kindest I have ever experienced. I, also used to laugh and joke about the place. THEN I discovered how special the community is.

Bakersfield Facts:
The dust and pollution is so bad that you regularly can't see the mountains surrounding the city. The condition of the roads and the public transportation system is terrible. There's absolutely nothing to do here besides go to the mall, the movies or go bowling. Concerts and festivals are few and far between. There's homeless people begging for money at nearly every gas station and strip mall. Crime is pretty bad in every part of Bakersfield besides the South West and Rosedale area. The city is split in half vertically by the 99 freeway and anything east of the freeway is ghetto and sketchy as hell. There's lots of illegal immigrants in this city because of all the agriculture and farming, this stresses our infrastructure beyond max capacity and leaves the native residents without low skill entry level jobs. The census is inaccurate because of the high number of illegal immigrants and the homeless. The population is closer to half million, they recorded 369, 000. The weather info is inaccurate, most temperature readings are taken at Meadows Field Airport. It's in the very North edge of town which is around 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the city. The majority of the city is 95° to 110° in the summer (8 months of the year).
