Three types of bellies:
1. Sagging belly
This is visceral fat, which is spill-off from the liver. It spills off around the organs and inside of the organs. This is a dangerous type of fat because it can obstruct the function of certain organs, and it can increase inflammation that can create other health issues.

This type of belly is usually caused by too much insulin triggered by consuming too many carbohydrates or too much stress (cortisol). To get rid of this type of belly, you need to focus on keeping your carbs low and keeping your stress low.

2. Protruded belly
This isn’t actually fat. The protruded belly could be caused by a liver problem that has existed for a long time. The liver is damaged and is leaking fluid from the liver into a sack in the abdomen. In this situation, it’s essential to change your lifestyle right away.

Vitamin E in the form of tocotrienols can be beneficial for cirrhosis. You may want to take 300mg 2-3 times a day. Consuming cruciferous vegetables and a moderate to low amount of protein may be beneficial. It’s also important to focus on supporting your microbiome. You could try taking TUDCA as well. Focus on your diet and avoid certain things.

3. Lower pooch
This is superficial fat. This is often caused by too much estrogen. This type of fat is very common and is not very dangerous.

Exercise can be beneficial in this situation in addition to cutting your carbs and doing intermittent fasting. It can take a long time to get rid of the last little bit of belly fat. But, you can do a few things to speed it up, like increase the amount of fasting you do and do things to lower your estrogen.

My father had a protruding belly for as long as I can remember. Despite religiously following his doctor advice and taking huge amounts of pills for various things, it was never mentioned that his belly could be a problem. He died of cancer, had spread everywhere but likely to have started in the liver. Big up Dr Berg, you've helped me immensely !

This makes me grateful for my weight loss, I’ve lost 50lbs and while I’m still a few lbs overweight I’m so grateful I stepped up and actually lost the weight. My stomach was huge and I have a family history of developing diabetes young. Just 10-15 more lbs and I’ll be content!

That second one hits home. My wife developed that belly. She was a slim woman. She had a blood transfusion due to septicemia before AIDS when blood wasn't screened as much. She got hep C, which shows no symptoms. When her belly first showed, 30 years later, we went to a doc. Less than two months later she was dead from liver cancer. Get tested, people. She could have been saved if she had just had simple tests.

Dr Berg, I have followed you since my dad was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago. I watched your videos and it helped me to assist my dad. His psa score was 39, it is now 1.9. My dad does intermittent fasting as well. I fast for 16/18 hours. At 50 years old, it's very difficult to be lean... But I am doing a great job. Your videos have been a lifeline for my dad. Keep them coming. 🙌

It would’ve been smarter to use actual photos of the bellies instead of drawings

A year ago I delivered my daughter and I weighed 120kgs! I remember posting on your live videos filled with rage, trying to explain to you how IF doesn't work when you are a new mommy with kids!
Today i am at 75kgs, i drink my acv, one meal a day or skip completely. I still can't believe it!! Thank you so much!!

I’m so fascinated by your teachings. I just wish I could have others learn from you too. I feel inhibited to tell others what I learn because they act like I’m a know it all or just a snob. I almost died from cirrhosis in august 2019. I even lost all ability to walk for 3 1/2 months. I learned sooo much from you and have come to a state of maintenance that works. You’d think they’d listen. Dr. Berg, I can only imagine your frustration to see so many poisoning themselves willingly. Even after they’ve been told they’re messing up! You are an absolute gem and a saving grace! Thank you!❤️

I have a sagging belly and am diabetic. Wow spot on. I'm working on fixing it so far so good. I have stopped eating rice, bread, pasta, noodles for 2 months now, and it has improved by a lot! My belly is almost flat now. Blood sugar is normal now. Hba1c has gone down to 6.2 from 6.8. working on getting it back down to normal with no meds. Just diet and exercise.

Thank you for this!!! My husband has the "beer belly" but he doesn't drink. However he does have a huge sugar addiction and stress. This video is perfect, not too long so I think I can actually get him to watch this. Thank you again Doc, he's not having to get it drained or anything so maybe it's not too late.

Such an amazing video showing the problem and the solution. I am the third category and have reached there from the first category through 9 months of keto and IF. Glad to know it's not dangerous but it definitely is hard to get rid of. So more exercise and cruciferous, less of soy and diary. Thanks you for the guidance as always Dr Berg, never gone wrong following your advice ☺️
