Someone tried to pull this on me a long time ago. I flagged down the server and asked to split the check. I then took my slip paid for myself and left.
I have not heard from that little weasel since!

One time I was on a date…the very first date a couple years after my divorce. When the bill came, the guy immediately told the waitress that he “forgot” his wallet so I would be paying because he’s sure I have more $$ than him since I had recently sold my home. WTF!! The amazing waitress simply told him to hold off for a bit and nonchalantly asked me to follow her to the cashier where she had me pay for my dinner and provided him the bill for his, then I calmly left the restaurant. Anyway, since I drove us there I felt a “little” bad that I left but not too bad😊. He tried calling me on my way home so I pulled aside and promptly blocked him then continued on my way! 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️
