Miguel’s outfit helps to symbolise his journey as a character. Throughout pretty much all of the movie, Miguel is shown to be wearing a vest and a hoodie. Not only is it fitting for his age, but it also symbolises his lack of maturity. By the end of the movie after he goes on his journey to the land of the dead and discovers more about his family history, also becoming a big brother, he is shown to be wearing a button-up shirt, showing how his experience has helped him to grow up.
