The death of Ernesto del Cruz when the bell falls on him marks the seventh villain to die in a Pixar movie. This comes after Hopper’s death in 1998’s A Bug’s Life when he is eaten by birds, Syndome’s death in 2004’s The Incredibles when he is sucked into the turbine of a plane, AUTO’s death in 2008’s Wall-E when he is “relieved on duty”, Charles Muntz in 2009’s Up when he falls to his death, Mor’du in 2012’s Brave when he is crushed, and Thunderclap in 2015’s The Good Dinosaur by drowning.

Mordu’s death always fucks me up. He was just like Merida mum. He was someone who didn’t know what he was getting into. And now he’s just a beast, a dead beast.

Wow Pixar really does find the most sadistic ways to kill people in their movies.

I still think the most brutalist death in Disney is when the villain from princess and the frog literally gets sucked into hell- (p.s after seeing Tarzan I still don’t know what one is worse-)

Pixar makes amazing villains, especially ones that seem realistic for the setting there in.

The UP death was shocking as a kid watching in the theaters. I remember it making my heart jump, the was the closest real death that was shown in an animated movie I had seen.

Technically auto wasn’t a villain, it was just an AI doing what it was programmed to do, it didn’t have any free will

He didn’t die, he’s already dead. His Skelton is just trapped under the bell until he gets freed or some how forgotten

For some reason UP death gave so much anxiety and fear as a kid, especially just being in the air and falling so far down

Thunderclap didn't actually die. The director said that he survived
