People don't like simple and good explanations because then they can hold accountable. It's way easier to believe weight loss is a complicated medical topic and therefore you're unable to lose the weight unless you have a lot of money to consult experts or are genetically blessed.

As a personal trainer, at a commercial gym, I found out that no matter how much knowledge you hit people with, no matter how successful your plan is, 75-85% of people follow their preconceived ideas of how to get in shape. Telling them calories in vs calories out or breaking down how their body uses fuel, goes in one ear and out the other.
They heard of x diet or cleanse. Most give husbands that taught them how to do it. Dr X says do it this way.
Worst is the the ones that had success with starvation or other terrible things.

People that get the free training sessions or purchase a few workouts are looking for magic. If you don't give them magic they will just go with what they heard.
It's not even laziness. It's just people think they know everything or know someone that does.

The ones that had success in the past don't take into account other factors that were going on in there lives. Age, activity, etc.
Especially ones that did things like not eat. Then it's a constant cycle. They don't want to do the work or just the THINKING. They don't want to have to pay attention to calories or activity. It's easier to not eat for a couple weeks, look good, then blow up again.

I'm not talking about the successful ones. There are some people that do things their own way and it works and they're happy.

But calories in calories out works. If it doesn't then you are missing something. A lot of times it's figuring out how many calories your body burns on a regular basis. Medication, health issues also comes into it. And giving your body the time to change.

I’m glad you mentioned the NEAT thing. I feel like in a lot of your videos you say “over 10 years it’s x amount of pounds”

While you are technically right, the person would probably only put on like 10 pounds and their metabolism would adjust higher to maintain at that new weight. Same for weight loss. “ You will lose 30 pounds”. In reality you will lose like 10 pounds over ten years because your metabolism will adjust to burn less calories.

Protein per pound of LEAN body weight. If your weight is 100 kg and you have 25% body fat you only need to eat protein for 65-70 kg depending on the LEAN mass calculations

Four Buffalo Chicken Rollers from 7/11 is 760 calories and 56g of protein. High in sodium so pay attention to that if sodium is an issue for you. Otherwise its a pretty good option for Cheap in my opinion.

Well, protein is more satiating, so I do think it's gonna make a difference. The thermic effect of food however, as far as I know is already adjusted for in the calories we count

About 60% of my diet is protein lol.
250g - 300g a day.
It works for me.
Just waiting for Greg’s laser eye body fat assessment 😂

Sorry to burst your bubble Dr. Mike tells in one of his youtube shorts that the thermic effect of food is already factored in, i.e. protein has around 6 cal and carbs have around 5 cal before factoring in the thermic Eating more protein will definately help to eat less calories but if someone eats the same amt of calories no matter from where they come from (protein, carbs or fats) it will have the same affect to body composition
Greg I love your videos you helped me to lose about 25 pounds and gain a shit ton of muscle Thanks a lot ❤

I'll just say this once: 0.8g of protein per pound of bw is what you need, up to 1g per pound and at the end of the day it's all about your total calorie deficit👍

Thank you, Greg! I appreciate you breaking down my video in this way with a science backed approach and it was great meeting you at the Arnold this past March!

Coach Greg, its more than you and everyone in the comments think. Most studies put the thermic effect of protein at 20-30% while fats are at 0-3% and carbs are at 5-10%. Worst case its a difference of 40 calories (assuming 10% TEF from carbs swap to 20% TEF from protein per that 100g of protein increase) and best case its a difference of 120 calories(assuming a 0% TEF from fats swap to 30% TEF from protein per that 100g of protein increase). I always tell clients each gram of protein they eat is one calorie burned.
