If someone says they’re eating 1200 and not losing weight, they’re probably not actually eating 1200 and need to learn how to properly count calories

that’s like saying if you eat 0 calories you will live forever because your body will adjust. This concept in fitness is absolutely wrong and everyone explains it that way.

Well a relative recent set of studies kind of debunked this theory. The reduction of energy usage is minuscule in itself. What often happens is that you in fact become less active in your posture, mental usage, day to day activity and that reduces your deficit.

So just going to leave the question still in the air without answering it, lol. How do you fix it?

This is technically true. However, if you increase your intake, work out at the gym, and drink more water, you will notice the weight going down

So why are people dying of starvation if your body adapts to your calorie consumption? Probably people saying I am eating 1200 calories and not losing weight are 100% underestimate their calorie consumption

I eat 2300 calories and I weigh 120 pounds. I do cardio and exercise 7 days and Im 5 foot 6. You dont need to starve yourself to maintain a healthy weight or lose weight

this guy hasnt got a clue...if you are in calorie deficit and you burn more calories than you eat...y ou will lose weight....PERIOD.... ABSOLUTELY NO QUESTION ABOUT IT... if you eat 1200 cals and dont lose weeight ...you are either lying to yourself, or you are catatonic.

I'm sorry but the people in Ethiopia would disagree. If you're only eating 1200 calories a day and not losing weight you are in fact not eating 1200 calories a day. Get a freaking scale and weigh your food And make sure you were strength training.

I've been dieting since Feb 2023, so far I've lost 28.8lbs, there are days, weeks, nearly a month where my body refused to lose weight but persistence is key... Also I find diets boring so I mix it up every 4 weeks...
I started shake and soup, lost about 11lbs, then I started looking into keto and lost about 8lbs
Then I tried focusing on low carbs but most eating nothing refined
I also looked into fasting, OMAD fasting, I keep mixing it up,

Now my current goal is to eat beef only, try to consume 100 grams of protein a day, which in calories isn't much, it's about 750 cos beef is so low in calories, but I will be eating cheese, eggs, nuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, rocket salads, olive oil,

Also I've never counted my calories, I think most the time I'm not getting enough but it doesn't bother me because I don't feel it...

Anyone who isn't losing weight at eating 1200 calories isn't actually only eating 1200 calories..

Statistically speaking, people eat more calories then what they are aware of. They *THINK* there eating 1200 calories but the number is usually much higher..

people claiming this doesn’t exist are ignorant, it does exist and it’s annoying af. if someone previously dealing with binge eating, anorexia or bulimia, having gastro issues, longterm acid reflux etc starts to eat 1200 kcal per day, it’s possible they don’t burn as many calories as a person with no medical history of any issues listed above. the body’s maintenance of calories just works different because those issues.

So we now assume that burning the extra 3500 cal doesnt help you lose 1lb? This is not true guys. It means you need to move more

I understood this by stress hormone and if you supress or make less production of cortisol- stress hormone the fat will burn easily and this can be achieved by using Ashwagandha it also increases testosterone.

Metabolic adaptation is super unlikely and once you add more calories your likely to bounce right back. Majory of the time people are just not counting calories correctly

never fails, when someone says this they're not measuring shit correctly or using volumetric instead of a food scale
